Hi. I have been taking 0.5 mg Clonazepam once a week for months because of work related insomnia. For the last month i took it twice a week and now this week I have taken it 4 times because of exam stress. I am planning on cutting down/quitting in my 2 week christmas break. I am not scared of psychological addiction, because I dont like how it feels, when I am awake, but I am a little concerned about dependence. Will I feel any withdrawals at this dose/frequency?

You're still not taking that much, but please don't keep upping the dosage.

I went from 1mg to 4mg a day in a very short time, and had a horrific 12-day withdrawal when I stupidly quit cold-turkey!

DF just wanted to say I am so happy you stopped scarfing you 90 count of 2 mg over the course of a week or two. I remember you did that frequently. It has to be healthy to not do that. :) Hope you are staying well.

Oh yeah, that ended back in the spring of 2023. I haven't even touched it in almost 2 years.

I never up the dosage. 0.5 mg is enough. Actually I am thinking of buying a pill cutter and trying 0.25 mg when I need it in the future. But thanks so much for the replies.

Clonazepam Informations

Clonazepam is a very popular benzodiazepine, often used by drug addicts due to its strong sedative and calming effects.
A dosage of 0.5 mg is generally considered safe, as the normal dosage ranges between 0.5 mg and 1.0 mg.
However, obtaining a prescription for Clonazepam is becoming increasingly difficult, and there is a fear of withdrawal symptoms.

As a result, many individuals use Lyrica (Pregabalin) as a replacement.
While it is also addictive, it does not show any affinity for GABA-A receptors and instead opens the calcium channels.
Most people say that 0.5 mg of Clonazepam is equivalent to 7.5 mg to 10 mg of Diazepam, depending on the person.

Duration of Action: The effects of Clonazepam last for 6-8 hours, with aftereffects that can persist for 36-48 hours. In some cases, it has been reported to last up to 96 hours, so caution is advised. It is a very long-acting benzodiazepine.

EDIT: Its my favorite Benzo and i recommend to take a 4 days break at least, after you took it.
