Clonazepam not working?

Ok so let me start by saying I abused Zopiclone over the years, Zopiclone is like Ambien it's a Z drug. There was a time where 7.5 mg would knock me out cold, but now I can take 50mg and barely feel the effects. I'm worried that Clonazepam is not going to work because I heard there is a cross tolerance between Z drugs and Benzos. I took 1mg of Clonazepam sublingually and felt nothing, can anyone relate to tolerance from Z drugs to Benzos? I want to use Clonazepam for anxiety.

Yeah I have a bunch of clonazepam. Seems like it doesn't do shit, it actually takes 4 hours to take full affect. Ive been taking 10mg and getting nice and chilled

Your probably tolerant due to the Zopiclone abuse... Also, Clonazepam is one of the most useless Benzos available IME.

More noticeable Benzos would be Flunitrazepam - Flurazepam - Alprazolam or even good ole Diazepam.

Clonazepam has a relatively slow onset and is quite ineffective as a sedative, but more intended to treat nagging non-stop generalized anxiety due to its long duration of action.

Z-drugs also target specific BZD receptors that generate hypnosis which is probably why they're more effective for sleep.

Benzos and Z-Drugs modulate the GABA-receptor so that the receptor becomes more sensitive to GABA. In a couple of weeks your nervous system get used to strong signals of affected receptors and reduces the amount of GABA-receptors, so you'll have less of inhibition signal.

As stated by chloro very accurately, clonazepam's time for peak levels in the blood range from 3-4 hours. There is no instant hit assosiated with clonazepam, hence why you'll not feel an instant hit of relief when you take the tablets. This is why I find it strange that it's prescribed in wafer form to be used sublingually for panic disorder. Even through this ROA it takes around 30minutes - 2 hours to reach peak serum levels.

Clonazepam does not attack the BZD receptors responsible for the hypnotic effects of benzodiazepenes either. It attacks other subunits that are responsible for anxiety and anti-epileptic means instead.

Clonazepam is not really any fun from experience. You don't realise that its truly taken hold and I have made huge errors in the past by taking opiates 4-5 hours later thinking that it had not done anything. Boy was I wrong. In no way do i advocate the use of benzos and opiates either - it's an extremely dangerous practice and don't suggest you take it up either.
