My Doc has had me on k-pins 1 mg 2 times a day. I am not getting on well with them after over a year on them. I went to see my Doc for a taper and he gave me 28 tabs he told me to take 1 tablet for two weeks then half for a week then a quarter of a tab till they are gone. I have read stories on here. That a Benzo taper is a long and arouse process especially
after being on them for over a year

I just want to clean up my act as sleeping on the K-pins at first was ok but now I get little sleep thats why I want off them I know sleeping is gonna be worse for a while but has my doc stitched me up. does he know enough about these drugs to give me 28 tablets for a taper. Am I gonna be in trouble if anyone has doe a taper from Clonazepam please give me some advice thanks in advance. Tunesey

The PDR (physicians desk reference) used to, haven't checked in a decade - suggest a taper for k-pins of 1/8mg every three days. That's also the official package insert for clonazepam from the innovator. I'd double check, but I did that taper and it was fine from 4-mg/day to zero in 90 days. I eventually went back on it, but that's a different story. Best wishes. I didn't calculate your supply vs. dropping 1/8-mg every three days. You may have enough, getting 1-mg tablets cut into eighths would be difficult. And not being water soluble a solution would be tough to make unless you use EtOH or PG, but stability in EtOH might - might, not certain, be an issue. Refrigerate if you do this. They'll be excipients that don't dissolve, regardless of solvent something is likely to not dissolve that's normal.

They market, in the US, anyway an SL 0.125-mg "tablet". I used a combo of these and 0.25-, 0.5-, 1.0 and 2.0-mg tablets. I had to use a spreadsheet and show my doc, who then scripted what I needed once a week for the three months. Look into it. A year isn't that long, that's exactly how long it was b/f I did this taper successfully. A lot of it is mental. You'll be fine.

Edit: if you're going onto another benzo disregard everything. I assumed you wanted off benzos altogether. Best bet long term. Addiction is a beast.

Thanks for your reply reading many threads on here regarding benzos I didnt think 28 pills were enough for a year long usage. my pills have score lines that can be easily broken down into quarters. I will see how I get on if I have any post withdrawal panic attacks I have some phenibut I can use to ease those but dont want to swap one addiction for another but I am sure if I just use the Phenibut for severe panic attacks I wont be swapping one drug for another and once the panic attacks have stopped I will flush the Phenibut

I'm so glad I'm not on benzos anymore, and threads like this remind me. It was like a slow 2-month detox for me and it still sucked. Definitely couldn't sleep that's just the beginning.

Obviously, it varies from person to person, but what your doc proposes sounds reasonable. FWIW, 2mg/day for a year isn't too big a regime to come down from. I bet you'll be right as rain.
