Being in Peru I find the pharmacies here are pretty open and you can ask for more or less anything and get it.

So curious to try my first SSRI for the pure sake of mood lifting I sought out Anafranil which is known as Clomipramine or Clomipramina in Spanish.

30 25mg tabs cost me about $28 USD. (they wouldnt sell me less than 30...)

I took two tabs with water on an empty stomach.

Within half an hour a nice mild euphoria settled in. As well as a slight comfortability, I felt very content sitting where I was.

I enjoyed watching Pineapple Express and noted that I found it a bit more hilarious the second time around (and the first time I was high) so I will say my mood was certainly uplifted a bit.

There was a mild physical buzz and alertness however to it atypical of most of these types of medicines. I felt a little more focused despite having less than 2 hours of sleep that day. These peak effects lasted about 3 hours.

I took xanax in the evening to fall asleep, 1.5mg, no negative interactions noted.

Sexual side note: I was also curious to test this factor out as I read it was a side effect. Proved to be quite handy as a matter of fact. A little more work to get the rocket ready to launch, but when it was it was able to last quite a while. This effect lasted around 1.5 days from intake. The half life is 34 hours so this seemed about right. "Self-testing" later proved un-doable until after the 1.5 day period.

Overall a pretty nice little pill.

Anafranil is an older antidepressant, not an SSRI, but wtf. It should be a lot more potent than the newer SSRI's and work on a greater variety of receptors.
