Clocks!!

Ceres, where you even born when that watch came out?

How old are you? Gimme a vague clue.

question evaded!

I know you love to be incognito, but roughly within what bracket. what years were you born inbetween?

[edit]
I ain't compiling dox, scout's honour ;p

Al Quaida are said to use such casio watches to make their bombs due to how reliable & robust the watches are. Apparently they are now 'retro chic' (sp ?) or some such BS, according to the bbc article i read about them a few months ago. I first had one when I was about 11. The watches themselves last for ever but the straps dont. Its now cheaper to buy a whole new watch than get a new strap. So every 3-6 years when the strap wears out I buy a new one. Fascinating stuff eh.

yeah those casio 'retro style' ones also only cost 20 quid, which isn't bad for the convenience of not having to look at your mobile phone all the time to see what time it is. I'd be a bit nervous about wearing a ridiculously expensive watch.

Very true, thats another advantage they have. I cant see the point in mega expensive bling watches. For everyone who says i paid £600 or more for this watch i cant help but think "more fool you."

Weren't you all envious of the kid who came to school with one of these and you were stuck with the 'el cheapo limited functions' casio?
I sure as hell was.

I always was envious, UNTIL they started demonstrating the amzing watches, and the only diference between theirs and my petrol station digital watch was that theirs had about 12 different lap times on the stopwatch, and had a countDOWN timer as well as the standard stopwatch....

I remember the first time I got me hands on a posh one, and it was such a disappointment.

I have an LED alarm clock and I can no longer see the display in the the darkness, even though I can see the clock itself in the gloom, so can any one tell me are my eyes fucked or is it the clock, and this is driving me mad.

I do remember those bad boys!

I had the £9 original casio :)

I can remember being well chuffed when I was at school in the 1980's and had a digital watch that you could play space invaders on.
Then the digital calculator watch came out and we all wanted one so that we could cheat in our maths lessons and exams.

I've seen one of those farmaz, well a picture of one anyway, they looked so cool. I kind of want one, but I don't wear watches and it was a watch, it might be a good xmas present for my dad though as he kind of collects watchs, but expensive ones, not novelty ones.

It was right on the wall in a science museum about 8 foot high, I was like "Fuck it they will think I am mad & not try to stop me" but the Norwegians just stopped & looked at me like I was some Ebola victim coughing & spitting on the floor.

I am still shamed to this day about how I went on but I so badly wanted that clock I was willing to risk my pride to get it

^^^^So you just nicked it off the wall, 8ft high up, in a science museum in Norway whilst there was loads of people about and not giving a shit that they could see you ? Didnt they have security or CCTV ? Did you just stuff it under your jacket and walk out past the reception/door staff whistling 'innocently' ? :?

I always hated watches can't stand them, I always used those parking machines(the ones where you put the coins) to find out what time it was when I was younger. Since cellphones, well it's easy.
