Cleaning your pipe

Can someone tell me a good way to clean a little glass pipe. Mine's caked with resin and I can't get it all scraped out. Can I soak it in something?
 
get a plastic tub or cup fill it with isoproply alchohol(rubbing alchohol) and salt, let soak 2hours then shake...
use qtips to really get it clean.

Go to a head shop (smoke shop) and buy 420 cleaner. This is the best shit. Start off with a zip lock bag with some of the 420, put your glass pipe in with it and shake it up, this will loosen up and clean most of the resin. Rinse your peice with luke warm water, close all openings with your fingers, shake it with some water in it. Now to get the hard to reach resin, pour some 420 cleaner right in your pipe and use Q-tips to scrape out the rest, repeat shaking method with cleaner and with water. repeat the q-tip method until your piece is sparkln'....your going to be surprised how brand new your piece will look
 
Yeah, do that shit if you want, but what I do is run some hydrogen peroxide through it which makes the resin just slide off.
 
I have found any kind of alcohol does wonders., I use methylated spirits (denatured alcohol), soak the pipe in a shallow bowl of your alcohol for about 10 minutes, then get to work with a pipe cleaner or some other small brush. It looks brand new again after this process.
 
dont waste all that resin my friend! just heat up a safety pin or some long thin metal object, scrape that shit up and smoke it!
 
You could boil it in water if its a glass bowl to loosen up the resin. Then just take regulag Rubbing Alcohol & Q-tips. Dip the q-tips in the alcohol and clean the pipe out. It takes a lil bit & gets messy but it will get your pipe perfectly clean. The 420 shit works great but why buy that when you got what you need to do the job at home in your medicine cabinet...
 
methylated spirits (or methyl hydrate) is actually a strange mixture of stuff that's mostly, but not entirely, methanol. it's possible to obtain relatively pure methanol at a hardware store... but you don't need it. from my rather limited experience (i don't smoke weed...) isopropyl alcohol is very good at removing resin... especially if it's warm.
 
use the salt and isopropyl alcohol method. the salt doesn't dissolve in it, so it just tears the resin off the glass. then, pur your container full of resin saturated alcohol in the oven on the lowest setting with the door half open. and make sure you have good ventalation. when the alcohol is nearly gone, take it out, and you have some lovely resin to smoke (a lot of it).
just be carefull not to cook the resin in the oven by leaving it in too long.
 
I like Dawn lemon scent and ultra hot water.. Just put some soap in it, run some hot water through it..let it soak for awhile then get in there with a brush. Breaks up grease and tar well.
I've never had much results from using alochol, never tried peroxide. I'll have to test that.
