I was IVing smoking dope for months. I quit for a few months and recently smoked some what was said to be "stronger dope". I didn't feel the great high I used to feel. I nodded out, but I was nauseous as fuck! I felt sick for hours! What the hell. I'm super disappointed. It feels like the 1st time all over again.
I want things to go back to normal again.
When will my tolerance get used to this?

You obviously did way to much. Try smoking/IVing way less and enjoy needing less to get high rather than wishing your tolerance was higher...

Like seriously...

Getting sick for hours usually means too much man just try less next time

Exactly my thoughts. IV or smoke a little bit I wish I had a small tolerance :(

do more often to raise your tolerance same thing happened to me.. .by the 3rd day i was enjoying the high again.. now 6 days later i gotta stop before i get physical addicted

^^ What is wrong with you people. You're acting like it's a requirement to do X amount of heroin even if it's too much. It's called DO LESS.

I think most opiate users on BL, myself included would give almost anything to return to the highlighted statement.
Personally I'd be fucking thrilled if I were you.
Hell I'd even bust out a happy dance.
The only time I took a 2 month tolerance break (meant to be a quit not a break but meh) my tolerance didn't drop at all.
Consider yourself lucky.
I don't understand why anyone would be upset about a drop in tolerance.
All I can say is WTF, :!
I'm normally sensitive to posters but seriously this post pissed me right off. :X
As danky and caseface both stated in slightly more polite ways...
Seriously don't bitch about tolerance reduction.
That's just fucking ridiculous.

/Rant

Sorry about not being more polite but your post made an already bad day worse.
I've been tapering, feeling like shit all the time, getting no reduction in tolerance & hearing you bitch about a lower tolerance just set me off.

So all in all, my advice to you is to be thrilled that your tolerance is lower & use less if you plan on using at all. :)

^^ Yeah, i tapered suboxone experiencing withdrawals for 8 months and when i was down to 3mgs my tolerance was the same as it was when i was at 12mgs.

Be careful, you had an OD, and your situation sounds like how many a fatal OD occur on opiates

Worth noting. I am not at all familiar with heroin, but I have buried two friends and for the same reason, too: they used heroin regularly for a while, got clean, after a month or two without heroin they went back to their "normal" dose, and then respiratory failure and death. Sucks, man. It could have been avoided, you know?

I took a break from heroin for 3 days when i was first getting addicted to it and i almost ODed after only the 3 day break. I guess it makes sense that tolerance drops a lot more when cold turkey than when tapering.

^^ It might be more that you were first getting addicted than the cold turkey.
The two months abstinence I was referring to was actually after a cold turkey.
Off of a pretty nasty Oxymorphone habit at that. :(
I had a 0% percent tolerance reduction.
To be honest it actually took me more than I was using when I quit to get the same effects I was getting before I quit.
Paradoxical but true for me none the less.
Needless to say I was quite upset to find that with 2 months clean it took more to get the same effects than when I was using daily.
Made no sense...
The only difference I could see was that the 2 months clean was after 2 years of using.
As opposed to when I first started using & taking a few days off would produce a tolerance reduction.
After years of use it seems to me that tolerance drops EXTREMELY slowly even after a cold turkey.

Again everyone reacts differently so it's much better to be safe than sorry & dose low when trying opiates again after a break from them.

^^ True, i was only 'dependent' for 2 months before this 3 day break so the withdrawal was mild. Still present but mild, and yeah my 'permanent' tolerance hadn't fully built yet.

Since i just got off suboxone though I'll have to report back with how much my tolerance has gone down in a month or two. Considering i have been opioid dependent for 2 years and some months.

As others have pointed out- you did too much, if you don't want those effects, do less. Please try BDD for this type of post next time.
