Opioids Citric acid in oral methadone concentrate?

I hope this is the right place for this question, but I've noticed the ingredients listings I've seen online for oral methadone contains citric acid. I know this doesn't mean every brand, but I also saw cherry flavoring in the listing. Considering that anything acidic can lower your bodies ability to absorb the methadone, why would that be an addative? Unless such a small amount doesn't matter?

It can be used as a preservative. You re talking about liquid methadone, correct? When I was on liquid methadone it was cherry(somewhat) flavored. Wouldn't think they'd flavor the pills.
