Anyone gone before?

Thoughts on chemicals to make the experience more epic?

Seen some of their stuff in Canada. You honestly dont need to talk anything to revel in the awe of their spectacles.

When you're thinking about taking stuff at a show designed to entertain you you know you're taking it way too far. Please. Go and enjoy it!

Trust me and others when we say you don't need drugs to go see Cirque Du Soleil. I went and saw their Quidam show a few years back and enjoyed every minute while being stone cold sober.

Ill leave this open for the time being but keep the drug talk out.

Can't say we enjoyed the Aussie one we saw a couple of years ago. We had high expectations from loving their DVDs but were disappointed with the majorly cut down Aussie version. Luckily we had free tickets since the cafe my wife used to manage was around the corner from the Melbourne office for Cirque du Soleil and the staff _LOVED_ the coffees she made. We were the only ones out of the people working there that got free tix :D We did feel 'ripped off' even though the tickets cost nothing.

Either we saw a bad Cirque du Soleil and/or most (all?) of their shows in Aus are cut down compared to the ones you see on DVD that are _huge_. The one we saw was in like a circus big top that just was too cramped for the show they could have put on. I guess you could like (love) the show if you don't have expectations of it from the DVDs and/or do have chems to enhance the night. Hopefully you do enjoy it if you go (anyone),I do wish we did enjoy it but truthfully, we both were disappointed. Can't do much about it, wasn't a waste of time, just knew that so much more could have been done by these very talented people!

Why? Because in your opinion the show isn't enhanced by recreational drugs that means cosdog can't talk about smoking some weed or something beforehand?

Many people find marijuana or similar enhances their experience of art, and I find it a perfectly valid past-time and point of view.

No I don't think that's his opinion. :)

Don't you think it better Josh be looking out for other members talking about drugs going to social events on a public board.
He's just being a little over protective but being there's no direct self incrimination and only discussion of potential use at a certain event there is no issue.

He's just looking out for his people, keeping their best interests at hand :D
I'm sure no one here will intentionally incriminate themselves here, but we do slip from time. I'm glad the big fella son the ball tbh.

It was quite awesome in the end, colours and costumes were dazzling.

I've never seen the DVDS so i had no prior bias. I was impressed.

The strength of some of those men and women, shiiet.

As for the replies about not taking things at entertainment venues. Then why do people take drugs at raves/doofs/clubs? To enhance the experience?

Really? I apologise if that's the case but it's not the impression I got, especially since cirque de soleil is an ongoing event that travels around the world and cosdog didn't make any reference to any particular dates (though he since has).

There's a lot of people on here, myself included, that are no longer big drug takers but I think it's important not to bag people out if they're still using and experimenting. There's enough of people looking down on drug users on every other message board on the internet.

Cosdog if you liked cirque de soleil you should check out Circus Oz when it's near you, it's fun and way cheaper.

It was the case indeed Vanth :D

I read no condescension in Joshes post at all, he's the not the type to bag on people.

Here goes,

I'm still a noob when it comes to modding. The reason i said "Keep the drug talk out" is because I made a mistake understanding the forum guidelines.

Since cosdog didn't really incriminate himself and was asking for other's people's recommendations i will stand corrected and apologise.

Vanth, I also apologise since you got the wrong impression, there's no way in hell i would bag drug user's out when the truth is I'm defiantly still using and experimenting..

I didn't want to say publicly that you had you're training wheels on still mate ;) =D

On topic, I'm in agreeance with Kaywholed's first post in this thread & COTB :)

Great to see you liked it :D. Check out the DVDS now =D

I have seen them twice now here in Australia and both times they were awesome. I have seen the DVD's and the main difference is the arena's are usually purpose bulit in places like Las Vegas that have them booked for 5 year runs. I would like to see their Love show, the one which uses The Beatles back catalogue as the soundtrack. I'm telling you now I would be more than happy for someone to slip me something colourful just before I saw that. ;)

The worst thing about tripping balls at Cirque du Soleil is the intermission that they have. Mingling through a crowd of people looking at souvenirs is my idea of a living hell. That, and I wouldn't want to be the guy who they get on stage then string up and hang from the ceiling. :(

I only take drugs at raves to drown out terrible electronic music and give me enough energy to stay awake for the 6am walk home.
