Fucken slackers. 1 ten minute ciggy break every hour = 1.2 hours every day standing around doing nothing! Gee , wish I could do sweet fuck all one day a week and still get paid for it.

Therefore, I suggest they either get paid about 15 % less or work a 44 hour week. Otherwise, it's just not fair for the rest of us non smokers.

That's a good idea I reckon. Best anti smoking strategy ever!

And they should work longer at hard phsyical jobs to counteract the fitness lost due to smoking :P

damn little cancer sticks, don't even get you high and only relieve stress because you're addiction causes the stress.

Seeing as though I used to work from 5am - 10pm at night, and I'd only get paid until 2pm, then I think I am entitled to have a ciggy break during the day. ;)

Seriously though it's only very occasionally that I take extra breaks, and that's only if we are ahead for the day. When this happens then EVERYONE in my dept gets that extra break, smoker or non smoker.

So you can stick that where it belongs! :p

i think we should have "green houses" littered around each suburb which are the only legal places to smoke. They would have air-locks on the door so that nothing escapes and no new air allowed into them, let alone a filtration system, so they just keep filling up with smoke. If you damn smokers want smoke then you can keep it all and have it in a safe place for whenever you feel like poisoning yourself! :p

I think we should lock all of the non smokers in these little green houses, and let them suffer our pain too. :p

:p

I smoke in my breaks and I can smoke anytime I want because simply I am in charge of my shift and I don't let anyone working in my shift have smoko breaks if they are only doing 4 hour shifts, it's "work policy" but if they working more than 5 hour shift they get a 15 minutes break either they want to have a smoke or not.

:p

That sounded like Singapore's International Airport they have a smoker's room, GOD!! 8o its pretty much sound like that description above, all the smoke is trapped inside and there's no outdoor smoking zones, and you walk in and in 5 minutes, you are stinked of tobacco smoke.

Actually they do have an outside bar area where you can smoke, but the humidity there almost kills you once you step outside. ;)

i agree.. I have to go thru Spore on my way home and id just rather not smoke. iv tried the inside smokin area, the air was too stale, the outside smokin area was juz too humid and hot for me after the cool winter and spring weather dat i experience here.. so i juz sit back and chill and wait for my next flight..

I smoke, but I dont take smoke breaks.
All the other girls behind the bar take one an hour, which shits me, because I get left with three dozen drunk fucks, while they chat for 10 minutes and puff away.

Either give everyone breaks in which they can smoke or not smoke, or dock them.

depending on your award you are entitled to a 15 min break in the morning and a lunch break and that's it. Where i work the smokers can take their break over 3 smokos but no two are allowed to go for smoko together to stop them standing and chatting. It's pretty effective.

I have no problem with smokers taking smoking breaks in their already allocated breaks. Taking extra time off to go and have a cigarette is completely bogus though, and if I was an employer id either ban the practice or start docking people wages by 10 mins an hour.

i agree...

but when i worked at centrelink, i used to take smoke breaks with the smokers... although i didnt smoke .... fuck em, i need a break too..

although now, i take enuff coffee breaks to be as bad as a smoker... so hey... i cant really talk can i??

My god... sounds like a prison!

At the place I used to work nearly everyone smoked including all my bosses so it wasn't a problem. If you got your work done they didn't say anything. If you weren't completing the tasks and you were taking a lot of breaks then they clamped down. Also, the non-smokers would normally come outside with the smokers anyway... there was nothing to say they couldn't. :)

It would totally depend on your line of work though.
