I'm a "former" drug addict, 20 year old male. My last addiction consisted of an 8 month daily phenibut binge. I smoked cigarettes from 13-18, then vaped e liguid until about 4 months ago.
Around February of this year is when my problem started. Its hard to explain, but basically it feels like my lungs can't get enough air. Its hard for me to get a full, deep, breath. And it's literally scaring the hell out of me. I quit vaping a little bit after the problem started, thinking maybe that was the cause. But I've noticed no change since quiting.
I went to the ER a few months ago, they ran xrays and told me my lungs look normal. They performed no other tests on my lungs, and told me it was all in my head. "Anxiety". I refused the SSRI they tried to throw at me, and swore off doctors at this point. I ordered a "peak flow meter" used for asthma on eBay, and my results match with a normal guy my age and weight.
I'm just not sure what to do at this point. It started while I was addicted to phenibut, but did not go away when I quit. The only foreign substance I've put in my lungs in the last 4 months is marijuana, and only a few times. Is it likely I have COPD at 20 years old? Could it be heart failure? I sure as fuck don't know. But not being able to breathe ike you want to is scary shit.
I also used to smoke synthetic noids for two years. I feel like maybe those have given me some crazy lung disease. I took a xanax a few weeks ago to see if thatd help my "anxiety" and allow me to breathe better, but it didn't. I'm not sure what to do at this point. I don't want to waste my money going to another doctor just to get told it's all in my head again. Its been 9 months of CONSTANT shortness of breath. From the moment I wake up, to the moment I go to sleep.
If I die from some crazy ass disease someone please put "I told you stupid fuckers." on my tomb stone Lol anyone else experienced anything like this before?
