Chronic Pain MEGA Thread

pain clinics

Pain clinics typically test you for specific levels.
They are looking to see if you have a specific level of whatever drug that they have prescribed you.
They would, however test for illicit drugs such as THC and cocaine in order to determine if the patient might have a tendency to abuse the drug(s) prescribed.
Pain clinics are notorious for testing levels and also doing pill counts and can do so at any time the doctor sees fit.
If your levels are too high, low or otherwise non existent then you are subject to get the dreaded drop letter with the emergency room referral.
I think the drug screens were developed by DEA.(drug enforcement agency) I don't think they know what they are doing. Another money maker for healthcare providers. Another control mechanism for the powers that be. I can not believe there hasn't been a successful law suit fighting such coercive methods of treatment. It is in no way "good medicine".

I guess that low doses of opioids can have an antidepressant effect beyond just creating a high, but then you ramp it up steadily until you reach the point where your life is nowhere near as good than before you started using. At that point they can even make you depressed. That's my theery, anyways.

I suffer from chronic pain in my abdomen from having my colon taken out 10 years ago. The surgeons said its rare i have such pain this far after surgery. Its not acute pain but chronic for sure. Inflammation most likely. It feels like im being jabbed by a blunt object when I walk or even move around at this point.

I went to pain management clinic for a long while until I started double dosing my dilaudid. They saw levels were to high and discharged me. Now with pain and a wicked opiate habit I went to heroin. Spent 8 years lostvin addiction.

Im currently on Suboxone amd Gabapentin and it worked pretty good. I realized even injecting all those drugs, mybpain wasnt really better. Ive tried to do what a chronic pain Drctild me to do and watch out for baked goods. They make chronic pain worse. Muffins, cookies, etc. Ive just gotten into tea and its helping some. I meditate. The pain still is there but I've learned of I fight it, it only gets worse. Only accepting it will help my mind make it a bit better.

I feel for those with any type of pain. Its horrible to live with. Opiate addiction has made Dr's very weary of prescribing anything and a lot of people need it. As long as you I urvtsking them right and complying with pain clinics rules, you shoujd be able to get what you need. Its a mess. Im glad I b get what I get and im grateful.
