I've discovered the reason for my chronic fatigue over the past week has been due to the fact that I've stopped taking Valium.

I had been taking Valium for about a month (maybe longer) on and off. Maximum about 60-70mg a day. And all together about 100 x 10mg pills.

I haven't taken any for about a week, hence the chronic fatigue (I just want to sleep all the time).

Now I know quitting cold-turkey can be dangerous. My question is has that danger phase (seizure, death) now passed as it's been slightly over a week?

I still have some Valium, so I could taper off it if necessary but don't want to use it again if there is no risk (apart from the chronic fatigue).

Lastly, how much longer is the fatigue likely to last? I'm finding it very hard to function.

Thank you

if you have already went a week without trying to taper i wouldnt mess with it now.. just eat a good meal, take you some vitamins, and drink plenty of fluids and try hard to get yourself going believe me i know its hard tho.. i dont exactly know how long the seizure risk can last and all that other stuff.. stay positive your through the worst parts

A seizure is still possible, but very very unlikely.

IME, seizures occur less frequently with diazepam withdrawal as compared to alprazolam withdrawal, and the seizures usually only occur when one is in acute benzo withdrawal (shaking, severe anxiety, insomnia etc...). If you're only suffering from depression and fatigue, the chances of a seizure are miniscule.

I say just continue the old turkey.

As for how long the fatigue will last, could be over tomorrow, could last a few months. My guess would be your energy should start coming back soon, since you only used for a month.

Tough it out and be thankful you can sleep. I would guess you should be ok in a week or two.

Hey Dragonkiller....Well done man...You have done a fantastic job by getting this far..One week is excellent...Keep going with your cold turkey...100 x 10mg tabs is alot..As for how long, IMHO you are definately over the worst of it...and risk of seizure should be very low....Since you were only on them a month i dont rekon it would take more than that to get it out your system..Give it another two weeks max dude and i rekon it will be over...Things should get easier from now on...This next week wont be as bad as the first one and the week after should be even easier..Well done again mate..Hats off to you....

How does your chest feel... I recently had benzo withdrawal and my chest felt like REALLY tight.. my heart was beating fucked up but my chest like almost hurt it was wierd. Not to mention I was twitchin adn shit lol. Benzo withdrawal is so much worse than even methadone withdrawal IMO. I would trade one for the other in a heart beat.
