A Christian GP appointed as a government drugs adviser has been sacked just weeks into the job over his authorship of a study linking homosexuality to paedophilia.

Dr Hans-Christian Raabe was dismissed from his role on the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs on the grounds that he had failed to inform officials about his views on homosexuality.

The Manchester family GP, who is said to take a hard line against cannabis, said he had been “sacrificed on the altar of political correctness”. Drugs campaigners also said they were appalled at the decision.

The Home Office confirmed Dr Raabe, who was appointed to the ACMD by James Brokenshire, drugs minister, had been dismissed. Officials will on Monday confirm he will not continue with the unpaid, three-year post and recruiting for a new adviser will begin shortly.

Sources said he had been sacked after not “disclosing” his 2005 paper, which had linked homosexuality to child sex offences, during interviews for the role.

He has something in common with Prof David Nutt then!

Thank fuck for small mercies, eh? So glad this douche got the boot. I dread to think what kind of muppet they'll dredge up from the depths as his replacement though. :|

The Christian GP sacked as a Government drugs adviser over his views on homosexuality is considering legal action.
Dr Hans-Christian Raabe has accused ministers of discriminating against him because of his beliefs.
He was thrown off the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs before he had even taken up his post after the Home Office said he failed to disclose a contentious article he wrote in 2005. He is said to have suggested a link between homosexuality and paedophilia.
Yesterday the married GP, who said he had been the target of ‘vicious, hate-filled personal abuse’ over his reported views, revealed he had been fired because he had promised there was nothing in his past that would ‘embarrass’ the Government.
‘I took that to mean anything illegal or immoral, not an article I’d contributed to six years ago,’ he told the Daily Mail.
‘They could have found it on Google at any stage. Someone at the Home Office hasn’t done their homework.
‘But ultimately this has got more to do with a small number of activists who I appear to have offended than my ability to make a constructive contribution towards the debate on drugs.
‘I don’t think the Home Office will have me back, but I’m concerned about the implications for public debate, so I would consider taking it to court on a point of principle.’

In 2005 Dr Raabe contributed to a scientific paper on gay marriage. It concluded there was a ‘disproportionately greater number of homosexuals among paedophiles’.
‘We weren’t expressing personal views, we were pulling together a number of pieces of research,’ he said. He added that he was not a ‘raving homophobe’.
Shadow Home Secretary Yvette Cooper last night said Labour had warned Dr Raabe was an unsuitable candidate for the ACMD from the start.
She said: ‘I call on the Home Secretary to release any papers that reveal advice given by officials and others on the suitability of his appointment.’

he has pretty much been a waste of money and now he is simply going to increase that aspect of his recent employment
