Issues have arisen, they stare you in the face
Too cowardly to move on without something to replace

No longer happy in your position, the pretence you cannot keep
In your own confusion, you don’t see it as deceit

Today is steeped in darkness, tomorrow it may shine
Unhappy yet unwilling, scared to chance and cross that line

An enigma of great importance, a puzzle to be solved
You will have your hearts desire once you venture to resolve

Life is full of choices, some simple; plain to see
You just have to ask yourself, what’s really best for me?

Stay in the arms of safety; is this a trait that you admire?
Inside I know you have the strength to fight for your desire

Inpatient for the answers, fearful of what you'll find
Will your mind make up your heart or your heart make up your mind?

oh how this hits so close to home. I sit and tell myself over and over again that i will no longer allow my heart to win....and of course, it proves me wrong each time.

sometimes it's the fear of the unknown that makes chosing the right thing so difficult - the fear of the repercussions that will follow and the fear that one will not be able to live with the consequences. you hit the nail in those last 2 lines

if the choice is still not made, sometimes it's better to walk away to prevent more hurt.
