Chocolate shroom bars = qualitative shift?

I've noticed after several experiences with both, that eating shrooms that were made into a chocolate bar felt different than eating shrooms plain. It's seems the trip resulting from the chocolates is usually "cleaner", more euphoric, less body-load, and less anxiety provoking, regardless of dose.

Is there any reason why this would be so? One thought is that the fact that shrooms are ground up thoroughly before made into chocolate would speed the absorption, and therefore produce qualitative changes, but I made a shroom tea to simulate this quicker onset and it was still not as good as the trips from chocolate.

Any theories? Or is it just me?

I agree that chocolate helps the shroom trip be much smoother & more enjoyable.

I make shroom chocolate using several different kinds of chocolate, but I believe the darker the better. I don't know exactly what it is, but I remember reading that in central america they would traditionally drink only chocolate prior to the taking of the sacrament.

They must've been on to something. I always eat chocolate after I do drugs anyway, it just seems to help. Lupis always gives Harry chocolate too, you know, after the dementors and all. Lol.

5g powder Lemon tekked + 3g shroom chocolate = my first ever ++++

EDIT: I believe dark chocolate also enhances an edible marijuana high, like a mango for smoking it

So I guess it's not just me. And if the Central American tribes drink chocolate before tripping, they've got to be on to something. So what's so special about chocolate? What does it have that synergizes well with psilocybin?

Chocolate has been argued to have anti-anxiety, anti-depressive and sedative effects. That and it is full of beneficial antioxidants etc.

Of course none of those things really do anything if it's in American 'Milk Chocolate' (10% cocoa liqeur, where as most other places require minimum of 25% cocoa solids). However, if it is in good quality dark chocolate, cocoa (drinking chocolate) or a good milk chocolate then yeah, those qualitive effects of chocolate are the reason.

I love chocolate, it's definetly a drug of it's own and that's why it was used at those cultures.

It is relaxing, somewhat euphoric and brings joy.

Theobromine is on chocolate and it's responsible for those effects.

American chocolate and most processed chocolate sucks. Real chocolate contains no soy, hydrogenated oils, ect.

Real chocolate is dark chocolate and usually only has cocoa, cocoa liqueur and butter, some sugar(not too much), and maybe vanilla.

I like the rawest chocolate though which contains mostly just cocoa, it's bitter but you aquire the taste and learn to like chocolate without sugar.

Well I'm going to assume that when shroom dealers make their special chocolate bars, that they would be using relatively cheap American milk chocolate (in order to maximize profit). If I had to guess I'd say they are usually made by melting Hershey's kisses or something.

So if this type of chocolate is low in the properties responsible for the mood-lift, etc., then the mystery is not yet solved. Either that or the psychotropic properties in cheap milk chocolate are underestimated.

i don't know about other growers but i use the best chocolate i can afford for the ones i make. shrooms are really special to me. i use lindt & ghiradelli with hersheys for substance. The lindt orange chocolate + ghiradelli 86% dark chocolate with hersheys/almonds plus crushed up peanut butter m&ms....

:)
