On getting out of prison recently, I ended up relapsing into my old ways, for a short time, and scoring a bottle of chlormethiazole capsules from my G.P, and an oz of decent-ish hash from one of my dealers, what happened next was fairly amusing, looking back on it, although not funny in the slightest for all concerned at the time:\

Anyways, I had been doing screw all but lying in bed, popping more of the caps, whenever I started to come out of a pretty nice high, and blazing spliffs, the chlormethiazole induced a fairly strange state, quite alike to a lucid dream state, although I remember little of the actual content of the dreams now, just the overall fuzzy, intoxicated feeling, very enjoyable, but not something I would do again.

Why? because on coming down, after several days of use, after I had takeb the entire bottle, not good, not good, I know that, but temptation has a nasty way of sneaking up on one, especially after doing 7 months odd in Forrest Bank/Strangeways8) , I began to notice a faint smell the first night in the air, which by day two-three got a lot, lot worse, and later I realised it was following me around, and why.

Chlormethiazole is based on a bisulfite adduct formed with one of the B vitamin complex, and that adduct was most likely cleaved in-vivo, and metabolised further, to form one of the lower-weight thiols, aka mercaptans, compounds infamous for having a highly potent, persistent and foul smell:(
Same stuff that is used to stench natural gas supplied for cooking and heating, so as to enable detection of leaks.

That taught me a lesson or two, and never again, at least not at whole-bottle doses over several days=D

Heh, thanks for the report, welcome back to BL, and, of course, welcome back to personal freedom. :D This drug always interested me -- I've always wanted to just give it a go just for novelty's sake. Interesting that it reacted the way it did after a few days of use.
