Well then, I have a few questions regarding this somewhat out of date downer, I say out of date, its still in clinical use, but after coming in, having been on a benzo script for nitrazepam, which really doesn't do much to me, benzos don't, unless its a horrific amount thereof, I asked him for a barb-site ligand, he asked which one, so I said this, as I have had it before in the past. It works, and well for sleep, I tend to use it only very occasionally, like I do with benzos, so no worries about addictive potential etc, I am well aware of that. My doc told me that he hadn't prescribed heminevrin in perhaps 20 years, although that its sometimes used for old people, as well as alcoholics (for alkies specifically, its potentially better than benzos when beginning a detox, as it inhibits metabolism of alcohol, allowing slower trickle-level metabolism of whatever booze is still in their body rather than an abrupt dumping of the addict into the severest WD)
Odd side effect. It causes a very sharp, very localised pain, specifically in the upper part of the bridge of my nose. I'm aware of its potential for histamine release, but I have never known it cause generalised itching at all, as opiates (again histamine releasers) do.
Just tonight, exploring it for recreational potential, I've got 195mg caps of the freebase, plugging is probably not convenient, certainly not going to shoot it, as it dissolves syringes apparently, it has a reputation for dissolving plastic syringes if not prepped and administered quickly. Other question-this appears, like barbs do, to have a pretty steep dose-reponse curve, two caps I know to be safe enough for me, having done so before to sleep, just taken a third.
But....in the autopsy results for the band member of The Who keith moon (who died from ingestion of 36 caps of the stuff IIRC) it was stated that only 6 of which would have been nescessary to kill him had that many opened in his stomach. So just how far can this be taken in an exporative manner? I have no intention of becoming utterly wasted, just, pretty well buzzed really.
