Anyone got any experience of using heminevrin recreationally? chlormethiazole (or chlomethiazole now, for some reason they renamed it to take the R out of the name)

Its an old downer, they use it on old people apparently, and its got a speciality use in treating alcohol withdrawal, I believe it might inhibit alcohol dehydrogenase, meaning any of that nasty C2H5OH floating about in a pisspot's system stays there longer, helping avoid an abrupt crash.

Acts as a sedative, more like a barbiturate than a benzo or anything similar. Quite possible to fatally OD, its what killed keith moon, the drummer from The Who. Apparently, although this is just a media type report/wikipedia snippet, only 6 of the 30something capsules found in his stomach, had that many opened and dispensed their contents, would have been sufficient to kill him.

Anyone use the stuff recreationally? benzos don't really work very well for me, had a nitrazepam script, now I have a pretty much unlimited duration script for chlormethiazole. Funny stuff, comes in flexible capules, containing the freebase, which is a liquid, really strange smell to it, that I can only compare, sort of, to some of those chlorinated higher alcohols, such as 1,1,1-trichlormethyl-2-propan-2-ol, with hints of ether or THF. Has anyone ever tried plugging the stuff? probably have to be fast at it, as its known to melt syringes.
