Chicken legs!!

Legs need extra effort because they take your workouts plus your body weight all day long anyhow... they adapt to the stimulus that you subject them too so if you gaining strength but not size maybe it's a good thing! pump training higher reps 10-14 even 20 rep leg presses can give a great pump to the legs
 
front squats , reg squats , leg press . eat a lot of food.

do that your problem will be chafing not chicken.
 
Another great way to maintain size on your calves - commute by bike. I do it on a fixed gear. I never train calves anymore and as far as I know they haven't decreased since I did.
