NOw that i think about it that was a dumb ass question. yeah, now i feeel like a fuck face. anyways, ive been coppin some red tape and its just not up to my standards anymore. i wanna grab somethin better but im just not sure whats consistent and good. thats why i asked.
If you're getting the red tapes that come in a little baggie (no foils) with a strip of red tape on the top, then try headin a block up (south) and there's a spot on your left, they sell pretty consistant shit. The bags say 'Best' and have green tape along the side. That's where I cop my shit from and it's usually pretty good. Stay away from the blue superman bags which are on the right, about half a block down, they're complete crap.

I haven't been out south since the projects closed and we can't give out locations so the best I can do for you, if the moderators will allow it is tell you to check out a website that shows you where arrests have been made for dealing. Google the words spot crime and chicago and click on the first link. You'll have to sign up, but it's free and if you type 'drug' in the keyword box, it will show you where arrests have been made for drug abuse violations, aka dealing. Like someone else had said, look to the west side. Any busts show up as little ? icons. The more ? marks, the more busts that have been made in that area, which means the more spots there are around there, but also that it's hot (more cops makin arrests). If you click on them they give you the date and time the bust was made. Spots are usually clustered together in Chicago so it's really a matter of driving around, once you decide on an area which you can do using the map.
As far as not getting ripped off, here's a few tips for you and anyone else concerned about getting taken for;
1. Legit spots are usually on corners and have more than one guy hanging around, they have look outs and runners, etc. so don't approach some random guy by himself because chances are he's not slangin. Best case scenario, he tells you he don't deal or asks you what the fuck your problem is, worst case scenario, he sees you as an easy mark and rips you off so remember, spots have an operation to run and it's not run by just one dude.
2. If they don't yell 'rocks, blows' or say 'what you need' but you think it's a spot, make eye contact and tilt your head back as if to say what's up. If they're dealin they'll ask you what you need.
3. If you can make it, the best time to go, from my experience is between 3:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., cops change shifts at 3:30 so many of them are heading back to precinct or won't want to bother with you given the paperwork etc. associated with making the arrest.
4. Don't go after dark on your first trip, there are stray crack heads that will stand around known spots after they close and pretend to be dealing, they'll rip you off and be gone before you know it.
5. If you're unsure, avoid foils and get stamped baggies to where you can see the dope.
And Lastly;
6. Make sure you can see the dope, (baggies) before you hand off your money, don't ever give your money to someone who says I gotta go get it and don't let anyone in your ride who says they'll take you to a spot. Better safe than sorry, especially if you're new to the scene or area.
Side note: I don't know how those flashing blue cameras work and I know there's been some debate about it but it's definately better not to cop within view of one, just in case.
Someone had mention something about it being dangerous to be white and in the hood, in that regard remember the dealers aren't the danger to you (beating up white people for the hell of it isn't good for business and bottom line that's what these guys are doin is runnin a business). The only danger to you is the cops!
