Im heading to Chicago this weekend to meet up w/ this girl I met while in Germany. I wanna make sure we have plenty to do so things dont get awkward.

Anyone who has traveled/lived there care to give me any cool suggestions? Ill be there over a long weekened Thurs - Sun

I'm going to move this over to North And South American Social. There's a lot of threads about Chicago in there already. :)

definitely go on the sears tower at night, amazing view of the city

Hancock building is also cool, they have a restaurant there, also cool view

walk around Michigan avenue, go see the lake which is very close Michigan avenue and also Millennium park is right there

as far as clubs you can go to vision, crobar, sound bar,

drive at night to see the view of downtown from further away, take I-94/I-90 South(same highway, they just connect in the city to make one highway and split in the north suburbs) towards downtown. Or any highway that takes you downtown at night.

You will have to google these areas

- Belmont/Clark (for headshops,good bars, crazy stores)

-Wicker Park (for clubs and bars)

- The Planetarium/Aquarium/Field Museum/art museum (drugs?)

-Boystown (interesting clubs)

lol i wouldnt take her to michigan ave unless you have deep pockets.

Why? You don't have to buy crap if you don't want to. It has a nice view of the city and is one of the most known streets in Chicago. You can eat somewhere else. A lot of cool Chicago downtown things are near.

It's like visiting New York City and not visiting Times Square cuz its in an expensive area or something like that.

I'm pretty broke and I could go there with my husband right now, walk around and not spend a dime.

But if you want to take her out for an especially nice meal you can take her to one of the restaurants there. But you can find better food, cheaper farther away from downtown, someone mentioned the streets already.

Your location means Northern LA, right? Can I ask why in the world would you take this girl to Chicago if you are from Cali? Chicago is nothing compared to a long weekend in Cali, damn. I went there last year for 14 days and fell in love and I've been to many places in the world. California has it all. From Santa Monica to Yosemite.

Take her to the westside and score er some heroin. Just kidding! Millenium Park should be a must see. Daley wanted an artistic park to rival any park in the world. Did a good job.
