Hello, all. I realize this is my first post, though I'm not new here. I am coming to you as a researcher seeking some leads on a few compounds that may be used in research related to taste and smell perception.
I have open options to design a research protocol with rats. The time frame I am looking at is 4-6 months to complete the experiments.
I am looking for any and all compounds that may modulate the sense of taste or smell in any way. This modulation may include but is not limited to increases or decreases in intensity of taste, qualitative changes in taste perception (sweets not tasting sweet, bitters being perceived as not bitter), or any effects related to how a taste is changed while under the influence of a particular substance.
I am only aware of 5-meo-mipt as a possible candidate for psychoactivity and taste modulation. I have heard of some berries or extracts of said berries that can knock out some taste modalities so if you have any experience with those this may be helpful.
Thank you in advance for anything you have to add!
