I am just curious

If one ended up having cancer, would the doctor have a problem with prescribing a high dose of benzos

For instance, say someone had horrible abdominal pains, turns out he has cancer. He is prescribed opiates for cancer pain. The patient has a history of bad Anxiety, would adding benzos be a problem?

I'm not sure on that...that's a VERY...odd...question to ask when one doesn't have cancer lol. I don't know if it would interact with their chemo, but if it doesn't I'm sure they wouldn't have an issue prescribing benzos for anxiety to a patient that knows he/she being dead and gone in a couple months is a great possibility. Like I said, don't know if the drugs would interact.

Mostly IME people on Chemo are often taking opiate based medications that also IME deal with most anxiety, I guess it would depend on cancer, what type it was and how far it had progressed and what the prognosis was.

That's a very strange question to ask.

We can't tell you what a doctor would prescribe if someone had cancer. That would be between the individual patient and the doctor. If you know someone who has cancer and you're worried about them, I recommend making a post in The Dark Side forum.

Going to close this. Send me a pm if you have any queries.
