Chemically-smelling weed

A while ago I got some regs which were very dark and old looking. It had a funky smell to it. The closest thing I can compare the smell to would be ammonia or lysol. For some crappy regs, however, it REALLY messed me up. It gave me a really confused and spaced out type of high too. More so than regular weed. I remember once I smoked less than half a J of the stuff and then attempted to drive. Normally I'd be able to do so but in this instance I was pressing the brake wondering why the car wasn't moving. I questioned whether the stuff was laced with PCP or ketamine but seeing as how this would be expensive to do, I doubt it. Has anyone else ever had weed like this? What could possibly have been in it?
 
You'd know if it was laced with PCP or special K man. Pressing the break for gas would be one of the more normal things if it were laced with either. Improperlly cured shit can smell like ammonia sometimes, and I've had plenty of regs and kush that smell like Mr.Clean or Lysol that turned out to be Lemon haze or kush. Lots of bud smells that way.

Just low odds that you actually got a laced bag, it doesn't make sense unless one of your homies was trying to fuck with you

yea it could be a lemony tasting/smelling strain of pot.

dirt taste, lemon taste, skunk taste, fruity taste, any tastes i missed out on?
 
There is literally no way we could tell you whats in your pot. If you like the high keep smoking it and don't worry. It won't kill you even if its loaded with PCP. If you don't like the high then don't fucking smoke it. Its not that hard.

I've smelled lots of this stuff before. If it's the same smell of a lot of the weed I got in south east asia, it's probably been stored too long with too much humidity and has acquired a mold that produces this smell. It will not be a nice smoke, and can give you a lung infection. But I smoked it a few times...

It sounds exactly the same to me, and I believe it's a mold. Ammonia is the best description for the smell...
 
I've had the exact same type of thing happen to me too, except it was Cali Hydro. It had a very strange chemical-like taste to it, and it gave me a really different kind of high. Never bought from that guy again.
 
If it gives you a dissassociative-esque high then it might be laced with PCP. Lacing pot with PCP isn't done only to fuck with people, it's done so that lower quality pot can be sold as decent pot due to the synergistic effect. I've never heard of pot being laced with ketamine though. It's been said before though, no one here can tell you anything about your pot (unless they've seen it in person).
 
Isn't PCP a yellow powder?

I remember one guy who had PCP laced buds and he felt like his arm was floating away.
 
I've had plenty of lysol-smelling high quality weed, perhaps it just looked bad / old but was potent, getting you ultra ripped. Or maybe the fact it was so old means alot of the THC degraded to CBD, giving you a much different high than you usually get due to the varying ratios of cannabinoids.

Or someone was keeping their JWH-018 laced supernugs in a jar with lemon air freshener.
 
due to the wide range of terpenes in cannabis an astringent/chemical smell is nothign out of the ordinary.

in the 90's I made a northern lights cross that stunk of pine disinfectent.

mouldy weed can have an ammonia smell however.
 
You just have excellent herb. Enjoy it.

A friend of mine in CO has medicinal herb and he has smoked one strain that smells like a lemon.
 
^There are a ton of Lemon strains floating around Colorado right now. A lot of them have similar genetics. My favorite is the Lemon Skunk, it tastes like lemon drops. But that's besides the point, because I've also had the weed the OP describes, and it's not lemon skunk/haze or whatever. It's most likely a mold. Moldy, old, schwag...

It was quite a while ago and I didn't mind the high. I was just curious as to what may have been in it. Lighten up.
 
One thing that I haven't seen mentioned is that it is possible that the grower of your weed did not flush his plants...
 
i like how everyone is providing very good examples of what it could possibly be if it were dank, US grown commercial weed. But it was schwag shipped from mexico or the carib... as he states in the first post.
