Why do some tryptamines form hemifumarates and others form monofumarates? Does this have to do with the electronic charge of the overall molecule or just part of the molecule????

4-OH-DMT makes a hemifumurate (2 molecules of psilocin for every molecule of fumaric acid)
4-AcO-DMT makes a monofumarate (1 molecule of 4-aco-dmt for every molecule of fumaric acid)

In phenethylamine chemistry we run across various hemisalts, but they seem to be a function of pH during salt formation.

With tryptamines, each tryptamine seems to make a single form of the salt. Can anyone explain why?
