I just got some smack and was wondering trhe best way to chase the dragon. I know the general idea, but it was hard to find any real "tutorial" for doing it. I have a glass test tube that I imagine would work fairly well with a straw. It seems it would not burn through like aluminum and also it would be more efficient. Is this a better option?

Also, any real info on the experience would be great. I know that smoking it comes on in a few minutes but that's about it. Should I hold in the hits for a long time? Does promethazine or diphenhydramine go well with smack?

just use tin foil and a pen tube... light from below and suck up the smoke.

hold in the hits as long as possible so you dont waste any shit. about the prometh or diphen, once you smoke the heroin im pretty sure you wont need to add any other drugs to the mix.

is it powder or tar? with powder sometimes you need to cut it with caffeine so you can smoke it effectively. tar is very easy to smoke. once you light it, you let it run down the foil a little bit so you get a line of tar then keep lighting it along the line and suck up the smoke as it rises.

take a hit or two, wait a few minutes (10), then repeat as desired.
 
I also ask, powder or tar? If its powder, chasing might be a fun novelty, but maybe not your best option.

Hold in your hits as long as possible, and yes, promethazine goes awesome with it (diphenhydraine does too, but promethazine is better). I would usually take 50-100mg promethazine spread throughout the night, but I might have a slight 'tolerance' to it.

You'll know how hard its hitting you very soon. You won't need to wait long before hits. The worst thing that could happen is you get a little sick (but thats expected anyway with heroin, especially smoking it {tar can taste rather foul}, and the promethazine should decrease that chance)

Sorry I didn't mention before, but it's black tar (most likely from Mexico if that makes any difference). I tried using tin foil but it was a little hard to keep it from burning through (tilting it and making it run). I tried it with a test tube and it seemed to take a little longer to start to bubble but It seemed to contain more of the smoke. Anyways, I'm feeling awesome except for the rancid ketchup taste in the back of my throat.

Does promethazine actually potentiate the opiate or does it more treat the nausea and itchies? I couldn't find any info on the enzymes responsible for heroin. my guess is that it's CYP2D6 because of the morphine but I figured I would ask the experts.

I'm wondering the most about whether the promethazine would increase the potency (potentiate) of the heroin for dosing/safety reasons...or if it just helps to maybe add to the euphoria?
 
Promethazine potentiates by adding some more sedation, and yeah it'll help with the nausea and itches.

And CYP2D6 has almost nothing to do with the metabolizing of morphine, which is mainly done via glucuronidination. The CYP450 enzymes only play a small part, so even if you inhibit those enzymes it won't affect the length of the high much.

You may be thinking of codeine, which is metabolized into morphine via CYP2D6.
 
Ahhh alright, I was a little mixed up thanks for clearing that up. Anyways, is there any way to prolong the high or make it more intense? (I have no idea how morphine is broken down but I imagine theres a way to delay its metabolism.)

I'm feeling quite nice right now, but the euphoria wore off faster than I thought it would. How long does it usually last for you all?
 
yeah the euphoria doesnt last long with heroin. you will be left feeling relaxed and sedated. if you want to make the high more intense like you ask, and waste less, the needle would be the best bet. not that I'm recommending it. i never really got anything from smoking heroin.
 
Thats the shitty part of heroin addiction, for me anyways. When I become dependent on heroin the rush is the only time I really feel euphoric, I mean im high after it but from all the shitty fucking things Iv'e done to get high I still feel depressed and guilty so I usually end up doing a shot 15 or more times a day, pretty gross, im so happy i got off that shit.
 
Yeah, something I noticed though was that the afterglow lasts a really long time. The sense of peace and relaxation lasts for a good 5 or 6 hours which is awesome. Also, I was wondering what the physics/chemistry of smoking heroin is. I found that smoking off of aluminum foil seemed to vaporize the heroin much faster than through a glass test tube. It also seemed like I was able to get more out of it when I used aluminum foil (maybe because it takes so long to get the heat through the thick glass?)

Anyone know the method that loses the least amount of smack?

I checked for over 20 minutes and couldn't really find any answers. Sorry, but I thought that someone would be able to take 2 minutes to answer some simple questions. After all, it is a mesage board...

I guess I'll go look again.
 
conservatism is the name of the game, you let it run so that you don't waste the entire thing all at once, get the lighter close enough to get smoke , not close enough to burn the thing
 
Can you smoke heroin like crack with a glass tube and chore boy? I wanna try H sometime - - experienced with crack and have the system down ... I would think it could work the same way.

is this because you are trying to increase the surface area?

Also, how can you tell if you've burnt it? I know theres a difference between combustion and vaporization, but I don't know how to tell if I'm doing it right.

I don't see how any of this is relevant to safe drug use. Other Drugs is not How To Get High 101.

I'll send this to Drug Basics instead of closing it. You may be able to get answers there.
