Changing bong water

the way I see it is that if you're going to enjoy taking bong hits, clean it out and load it with fresh fluid and ice. The chamber inside is like a bottom of a boat, the longer it sits in the lake the more shit grows on the bottom. Rinse your aqua pipe out after every use and you'll never have to bust ass cleaning it out. Freshy hits 24/7
 
Changin the water in a two-chambered bong is a pain in the ass. When you have multiple pieces and you use them all, changing the water everyday isn't necessary, only when you have used one of them a few times. For a nice glass bong, the only thing you should clean everyday is the slide, pull all the resin out, scrape it onto a business card and save for when your stash is low. word.

Good point, pinch. Drain cleaners such as Sodium Hydroxide (Lye) and Sulfuric Acid are very harmful when inhaled, thus, putting them in an inhaling device such as a bong is stupid to say the least. Lye is extremely caustic which means that contact with your skin translates into deep, puss-dripping, open sores. It is also very dangerous when it comes in contact with mucous membranes: i.e. lye + your eye = excruciating pain and possible blindness. Lye reacts with aluminum so it isn't smart to use it for cleaning aluminum ganja pipes either. Sulfuric acid is just as dangerous.
 
I probably change my bong water ionce a week. Pretty lazy and it does fucking smell.. I need to give it a good listerine + rice clean out, and then start changing it at ;least every second day.

I've once had the small chamber pure black sludge.. It was basically pullies/dregs only! (the pot pull throughs).. Was easy to smoke but I'm sure I wasn't getting as stoned.
 
do you ever really change your bongwater?

i change mine before every use.. i usually smoke on the weekends, so you might even see me change the water several times on friday, sunday and/or saturday. i have seen bongs before that seemed to contain mudwater mixed with tar.. nasty. so what about you.. does yours look like it came from a spring or the sewers?
 
I have a double chamber bong so the second chamber bgecomes very filthy very quickly. I usually leave it till someone can be bothered to refill it, or if i cant see through it. then its time to change

Is this avatar really fucked up somehow or is that just my browser?

I change with every sesh… or about every 2 bowls. I like my water cold and clean. Since bongs filters out more thc than tar anyways I like it cold just so I chong a massive hit. Peace.
 
I change my water as much as I can, at least once a day preferably twice, if it is more yellow than clear I remind myself to replace it quicker next time.

i changed it whenever im bout too use it...i don't really have a reason i juss like to change to water..probably because i want the water to be clean
 
clean the front chamber every day, the main chamber every 2-3 days, as it stays clear until about 4 grams have gone through it, i generally clean the stem, cone etc when changing the water too, and maybe whack some citro clean in it to clean off any thick bits stuck on the side

I find that unclean bongs (even with clean water) can just taste bad!
 
I almost always clean my second chamber before a sesh because it basicly turns to thick, slimy gunk. I've seen some people not change thier bong water for weeks though... All my mates don't really care how how dirty the water gets so i'm always the one that goes and changes it
 
Has anyone picked up any lung infections or anything from using really dirty bong water? I'm sure all kinds of bugs and stuff grow in my bong in the summer.
 
For me and my friend, smoking is a social activity. And we, for some reason, cherish our smoking material (yes, including the bong water) because of the good times it brought us. Although, it may be becoming a health risk, and we should probably clean it, but it contains so many memories. :)

Hell, its only a home made bottle bong, but its the principle of the situation.
