I have written to several key members of our MW forum to let them know of some changes that will also be announced to the fourm in general. Basically, we aren't singling people out for any personal reasons, but we have several members who have continued to degrade our forum and make it unpleasant for both the staff and the other members of the site. I am writing on behalf of both staff and members to say that we will be changing some of our practices in an effort to clean up the forum. This does not mean you can't have fun, joke with your friends, or continue to build the hype for events that interest you. In fact, this won't effect the majority of our members since they already conduct themselves in a mature manner. For those that are effected, please take heed.
First, several of the ongoing threads have been removed as part of our scheduled PRUNE of threads. Despite being active and current, the threads carried a lot of old 'noise' that didn't have a place in this forum, especially as we try to make a clean start. If you have a club or event thread that is missing, please re-post it. It will help the forum a bit more to have a new club/event thread started for each month rather than a generic thread lasting forever. Second, at the request of several of our members, including those caught in the middle of the trash talking, we will be stricter in enforcing the guidelines and issuing CLAWs warnings to people who can't behave themselves or follow the guidelines. That being said, I hope this is the last time we have to address this issue so bluntly.
For the future, follow the guidelines. We have records of who's been an ass, and they have no second chances left. You may want to refresh yourself with the guidelines, especially those regarding no personal attacks, NO USING ALL CAPS, no "bumps" or pointless replies, no drug usage, etc. The mods will be much more strict than they have been in the past in regards to enforcing the guidelines. Those who can't get the hint and act more mature should not be suprised to find themselves recieving CLAWs warnings, and we'll be less reluctant to ban repeat offenders. Simply put, the staff and the MW members are tired of the crap and if someone can't behave, we don't want them here. IF someone comes into your thread talking trash, do not take it upon yourself to answer back. It doesn't matter who throws the mud first, anyone caught acting this way will be punished. Don't respond to those that antagonize you, use the REPORT function and let the staff handle it. IF someone harrasses you with Private Messages, you can forward them to a staff member or just delete them without reading them, either way. IF for some reason you find someone continually pushing your buttons and pissing you off, use the IGNORE function and put them on your ignore list (you shouldn't get PMs from them at that point,either).
Closing thought:
If you want respect and to be treated well, then give respect and treat others well. If you can't be a mature and responsible adult around here, then leave. We'll be happier without the drama, and you'll be happier somewhere else where you can act as childish as you wish without anyone caring. We care. Don't do it here.
