Changes in LSD experiences?

Normally my trips are highly visual (OEVS include extremely complex patterns, numbers/equations, words, hieroglyphics etc.) but my last two trips have been rather different. After a 3 month break I took my usual dose of 2 tabs from the same batch I always use and the only OEVS I had were just tracers, color shifting, and the normal warping/morphing effects expected from 2 good tabs. Mentally, I had the acid mindset but was way more clearheaded than any of my other trips even when I smoked weed during the peak. 3 weeks later (Last friday) I dropped 1.5 tabs and I got the same effects for the most part. I'm not sure what the deal is, should I dose higher or what?

Seeing as 3 months is too long for tolerance to have much impact I would say there's a possibility your tabs degraded a little.

The psychedelic experience is highly variably, no two trips are the same. You've probably gotten over the novelty of tripping too so it seems less intense, doubt the tabs degraded significantly.

When I first started doing LSD 100mcg was quite the visual experience with a splash of mind trip. Now 100mcg is not enough to have a psychedelic experience. Visuals are minimal, and my head is clear.

You're getting used to it, and as f33lg00d said you're probably getting over the novelty of it.

@f33lg00d and @zalo, makes sense considering I've never experienced tab degradation before regardless of how long I've had them. Guess I have to start delving into heavy acid territory again if I wanna thoroughly enjoy it.

I never "got used it" and stopped having visuals, and i have done alot. Some trips are just less visual, but it is not a permanent effect, for me anyway.

Psychedelics are by definition very inconsistent, so it makes since. None of my trips on any heavy psychedelic has ever been the same really. Sometimes I will get amazing visuals, sometimes they are unimpressive, even with high doses.

Acid in general has always been rather consistent for me, peak at 2 hours, start visually/mentally tripping hard for 6-7 hours and slowly come down. My first 12 trips were incredibly visual, it's just these last 2 that have been different. The effects are usually predictable (as much as they can be with psychs) whereas my shroom trips have always varied in visual/mental intensity even if it's the same dose from the same batch.

I think that the visuals of one acid decrease with the time.
The fresher the acid the nicer the visuals.
The psychedelic effect decrease more slowly.

I wondered about this a long, long time ago as well and I *think* I read some theories somewhere on BL of it having to do with dopamine release in the second half of and LSD trip. This was at least 2 years ago though. And I too always see hieroglyphs and numbers/equations on LSD but no other psychedelics, never done ketamine unfortunately. Set and setting probably play a bigger role in this though.

Yeah, variation in experience + reduction of novelty, sounds pretty normal. Take an even longer break and see what happens.

When I used to eat acid, we would take lots of b vitamins and drink vitamin water and the trips would be stronger. Especially while trying to dose two days in my row.

^^ This was probably due to placebo, after reading about mythological psychedelic potentiators many people believe they trip harder or better. This is psychological predominately. Except with certain things like MAOI's.
