Chances of PMA/PMMA in crystal MDMA?

Greetings all,
I have been hearing a lot of tragic tales about PMA in pills recently, and it got me thinking; is the risk still as large if your consuming moonrock/MDMA crystals. The reason I ask is because I obtained what I believe to be some high quality MDMA crystals, which are slightly off white/grey in colour and turn immediately black on the marquis test. However, due to PMA not showing up on marquis, I was just wondering if there is a cause for concern when consuming MDMA outside of pill form.

I'm not 100% sure but I believe that PMA would affect the marquis. Its a misinterpretation of 'not showing up on the marquis' which should mean 'will not turn the marquis a colour.' If your MDMA crystals were laced with PMA the marquis would turn black in places and remain unchanged in others due to the PMA not changing the colour. I remember that this was the case with some pills tested for piperazine which the marquis also does not change colour. The piperazine stopped a solid black reaction from occuring due to its inability to react with the marquis resulting in the patches of see-through, unchanged marquis solvent and black where the MDMA has reacted.

Since you've got a solid black reaction I'd say you're more than likely good to go.

Cheers for the informative reply. One last question: unfortunately, my scales have broken so I have no way of measuring out a 120mg etc dose of MDMA. As they are in crystal form and require crushing, this makes my job even harder. One idea I have is to just eat the largest crystal in the bag and redose if needed.....(not very good HR I know)

I would not advise this. Are you from the UK or the US? If you have a gram, split it into seven/eight equal piles. That will give you a decent dose, redose one/half as needed. Eyeballing it will never be accurate as you know but that's the best and more practical way if you don't have scales. Make sure you crush it first.

Yeah I agree with strutter. In the UK a gram is .7-.8 so splitting a gram into 7-8 piles that look equal then consuming 1 of them seems the best. I've no idea if a gram is the same in the US though.

A gram generally should fill the main square of a 3inchx3inch unfolded wrap. How heaped it is will depend on the crystals. You can always take more but you can never take less, so even if it's a 0.7 or even a 0.6 you'll know within an hour if you haven't taken enough. Because at worst it'll be a 0.6g the most you'll take in that case is still only around 120mg (if you take 2 bombs).

Like JWills I don't know how American drugs are normally weighed, in the UK we tend to get better product but lower weights, where I've had Americans taking the piss because we get undersold as they get (generally) closer to 1g.

All of that is generalising massively and you really need to invest in a mg scale, they're not that expensive.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm from the UK and I have half a gram of MDMA, so I assume the rule of dividing the piles still stands. I assume worst case scenario is that I would drop 200mg+ and would come up so hard, I would most likely vomit.

I have invested in scales in the past, but I somehow feel that its a risky business as if your premises ever got raided or you had a run in with the police, persuading them that your scales are for measuring potent RC's and not for dealing would be a difficult task (regardless of the quantity of substance found)

Scales aren't enough evidence for dealing; my missus has scales for cooking. It's not illegal to have scales and little baggies, it's the drugs that are illegal. They could only then get you on dealing if you had "more than a personal amount" of said drug.

Yes the pile divison still stands. If you have 0.5 mate it's likely you've got a ~0.4g. I'd split it into 4, so your dose would be ~100mg - ~125mg per bomb. Could redose a half.
