Chance of getting diamorphine on script? How much better for pain relief?

What's stronger for pain relief than morphine without it being diamorphine. Just trying to keep my options open for tomorrow so I have an idea of what will be best

I think the point is that if you go in there with a preconceived idea of what you need, then there's no way you'll get it.. Stupid I know, but that's reserved for private patients :( come to think of it, why not go private?

I'm sceptical of private hospitals not sure why?
Good point on telling him what I want although he is pretty laid back gives mrs.buffnstuff anything she wants! ? I'll throw it out there then that I don't want owt I've had before except maybe morphine as it's most effective but not slow release, try and negotiate with him a bit....
Think dropping a fiver on the floor might help? Haha

I think you might need at least a fifty mate :)

You haven't got a chance unless you are very, very ill.

I've sheared half the socket off from my right shoulder by dislocating it so many times and am having bone cut off from elswhere in my shoulder and pinned to the socket to rebuild it next wednesday and my script is for dhc.

If you haven't had one then it might be worth trying a patched med, works for some people.

TCINH - I had fentanyl in patches, was horrific! 2x 50mcg patches on turned me into the (barely) living dead!

Thought about trying a non-opiate? Some people who have become resistant to opiate analgesia find their pain actually goes down when they stop using it.

When I came off them I had a golden period of about 4 weeks or so where I was pain free, but it's been continuinly getting worse.
I've also been prescribed, amyltryptamine? Gabapentin, pregabalin and some other non opiate/opioid ones non of which have been any use at all ?
The doctors just try different stuff and different combination and to date only the opiates work enough to make a difference. The phenytoin infusions the IV into me worked te very first time for about 3 days and since don't touch me. Laid in a hospital bed surrounded by terminal patients waiting to die isn't a nice feeling.... I just want to be able to work for the next 6/7 months then I can stop using them but I've worked my whole life to get good enough to make the money and there's no way I'll lose out on a £2500+ a week job because of the pain, if they need to load me up with whatever I'll do it. I have too....

Ask him for naproxon (you'd need some stuff to protect your stomach as its a NSAID) but this, in conjunction with an opiod, may help you. It means you'd hopefully take less of the opioid n less likely to become addicted. You know when you instruct you on the box on how much of opiates to take yea?! For instance, take 8 codeine a day, well I'd advise to not do that n take ONLY WHEN THE PAIN'S BAD! Of course, I'm not a doctor n you must ask him first n what I'm saying is only advice. But I'm giving it you through personal experience.

I know you've taken opiates before so this advice is really for lurkers, this being a harm reduction site, n if I can spare one person from addiction I'll try. I really wish that they would change the instructions of opioid medication people take them literally n the government wonders why there's such an problem of addiction to opiate prescription drugs in the UK.

Back from the docs, he offered me MST again I sId no i want something fast acting and ended up with fucking 30/500 co-codamol! He really had my pants down there as I know these will do nothing! He also hasn't got my records yet from previous doctor so he is just going off what I'm telling him.
I'm back there in 2 weeks he will also have my notes by then and I will be able to report back the co-codamol have been pants.
I just really don't want anything slow release!

It's pretty absurd he offered you mst without having your medical records. If you want something ir why not just take the MSTs and break the time release?

It's just a bit hard to explain at work why I'm dissolving tablets and filtering through kitchen roll though haha.
I used to chew the MST up when I was desperate but ideally I just want whatever's the most effective. I probably should have just took the MST but then it looks bad that I say I don't want slow release but still take them from him....

Shit situation, I recognize some of this in myself (similar age, debilitating chronic pain and resulting issues with work, frustration with medication).

If you're already drinking a bottle of vodka everyday and getting no relief from all this other stuff (morphine/fentanyl/pregabalin), then what's the chance that heroin is really the right long-term choice? Realistically it seems best to ask your doctor for something more sustainable. Muscle relaxants seem to help me. Then on the side you could buy a stash strong euphoric drugs (H, oxymorphone, ketamine, GHB) to get through the worst days.

Just crush the tablets or balls inside the gelcaps (depending on what formulation you are getting) up at home and recap the powder in gelcaps. You can just empty a few paracetamol if you need to. I've never been an mst user myself but I can tell you just doing that will go a fair way towards breaking the time release for oral ingestion. Just don't start railing it otherwise you'll get fiending.

Last night I bought 4 cans that's the first time I've drank since that fateful night on pancake day when I had drank that litre of vodka before going full on exorcist and throwing up everywhere! I was feeling down few weeks back but it was frustrations from work doing a shitty job at the bottom of the ladder waiting for the decent stuff to come up (I quit yesterday btw and start new proper job on Monday! ?)
It's eased everything up and I am also having a business meeting tomorrow with a multi-millionaire who wants to invest In the business me and my mate have set up so it was a combination of everything that was getting me down I think. I was driving back from Scunthorpe today and actually thought to myself how happy I am and what a beautiful day it is. Something I usually overlook.
I just need to get through the next 6 months work wise with pain relief then I can relax through the winter and focus on the business a little more as I intend to be able to jack in the welding and semi-retire within 2-3 years

Please be careful codeine n drinking. Opiates n alcohol are both depressive n could cause respitory depression. Add in paracetamol - even with cwe you're not sure to get out all the paracetamol, which mixed with alcohol can kill you.

Sorry someone had to say this with Bluelight being HE n all, n with me being the most hated member I thought I would :D

Serriously though, please be careful. There's been far too many deaths on this site.

Does your doctor know you have a drink problem? Because if he does he's very irresponsible giving you codeine/paracetamol.

(@evey: MST = Morphine Sulphate Tablets)

Thank you, Julie :)
