She was sitting alone in the middle of nowhere when I found her. Of all the mountains, and all the paths I could have chosen, something I cannot explain led me up this one. I wasn't searching for her, in fact it was solitude deep within the comfort of the trees i was seeking. Stumbling upon an angel was merely a coincidence. Or was it? At first I could only see her back. She seemed to be sitting upon a large tree stump, knees hugged in close to her body, chin resting against them, head cocked slightly upward. Deep in thought perhaps? I was a bit hesitant to approach her. I did not want to startle her, nor intrude if it was solace she too sought. Yet something pulled me closer....closer..and closer. She seemed so fragile, so beautiful. Bone pale with a striking shock of long jet black hair. She wore a long tattered white dress. In her hunched position her shoulder blades were greatly exaggerated. Pointed and bony poking through the gauzy material. She was still unaware of my presence. I stood about 10 feet behind her and waited. I was hesitant...contemplating. Just as I was about to make my presence known, she suddenly spun around unexpectedly, catching me completly off-guard. I stumbled backward tripping on a rock, just barley catching my footing. "I've been waiting for you." she stated. So simply, so matter of fact. Her eyes were shining and blue. Yet I sensed something strange and almost otherworldly beneath the luster. Her lips thin, her nose small. I found her completly and utterly beautiful. The physical representation of an idea long harbored within. "Cat got your tonugue?" she teased. "Uh..yeah...no...um...how did you? Who?Where?" I stumbled on my words muttering merely fragments. She simply smiled patiently, waiting for me to continue. "I've been here since Friday night, how did I not see you?" I asked. "I just arrived this morning." she answered. "I fell at sunrise. My name is Harmony." she extended a long delicate hand. I began to introduce myself, but she cut me off. "You are Chance, I know this." she added bashfully. I was beginning to think that maybe I was having an extremely vivid flashback due to the 3 tabs of acid I had ingested the day before. This could not be real. This only happens in movies. Fate. Destiny. Chance. Something had drawn me to this spot. To this girl. "Shhh...it's okay. Come here" she pulled me in towards her and wrapped her arms around me. "It will all reveal itself in due time." I began to cry, gently at first, long drops running down my cheeks splashing onto her dress. Soon I was sobbing like a child. My body shaking. "Shhh..." she stroked my hair and kissed me on the forehead. I did not understand the how or the why of it, but I knew this was real. She was real. She was the one I had been looking for. After about 15 minutes I began to calm down. I stopped shaking and the tears dried up. We did not speak for a long time after this. She simply held me entwined. We were breathing as one soul. I could feel her gaze down upon me. "Do you dream often?" she asked, finally breaking the silence. Somehow I knew she already knew my answer to the question. She searched my face for some recognition. "It was there within your dreams that I found you." I looked up at her, silently urging her to go on. She took a long deep breath and began her story.....
