Challenge for you Chem Whizzes: dihydroergotoxin mesylate/marquis reaction?

What would the marquis reaction be with pure ergoloid mesylates (dihydroergotoxin mesylate)?

I'm not even sure its theoretically possible, but can you predict what the marquis reaction is with this chemical: dihydroergotoxin mesylate (C33-H45-N5-O5)?

I just did the reaction and am curious to see if anyone can confirm the results (theoretically). The reaction, by the way, was swift and vividly beautiful in color!

Are you the ultimate chemistry whiz that can predict this with your chemistry power-magic skills?

I would hazard a guess at vivid purple almost like tyrian purple as the ergolenes give that colour, and I can't see why the fact the double bond is reduced would make any difference.

ergoloid mesylates are a mixture of ergot alkaloids (ergotamine ergokryptine and ergocornine IIRC) known as ergotoxine which are hydrogenated to make them less toxic. these dihydro ergot alkaloids are primarily dopamine d2 agonists,
They have been popular as nootropics and have been used in the treatment of parkinsons usually to delay the neccessity of switching to l-DOPA treatments, I believe hydergine is a brand name?

other than that not a lot to say except they are rather expensive in tablet form and I never found a bulk source, so I lost interest.
 
the bulk source is 62$/gram.

5-10mg makes you remember things from traumatic periods of your life so intensely that you usually start crying.

4mg and 14mg of 2CB (rectal) produces an intense emotional/psychological trip that may leave you shaken for days afterwards (you also tremor/spasm throughout).

Care should be taken combining this drug with others as the action is really not yet known (D and HT agonism is the leading theory and also theories about increasing oxygen/blood flow to the brain).
 
10mg + provides little effect for me besides some somewhat unpleasant peripheral stimulation and does little to amplify LSD.
even combined with piracetam the effect is negligable. shame i did find it in bulk :(
