Wow, i took 20 mgs of oxycodone (percs) last night and I was having some good closed eye visuals. has this ever happend to everyone. I guess i should add the backround info. I don't have a high tolerence to percs and this was the most i've ever done. I had a shot of vodka with it too, i also had lots of OJ. About an hour into the high, the itchiness was intolerable so i took some zyrtec (allergy med),i didn't have any benydril. I slept the whole next day too, which was awesome, lazy as shit and had some vivid and lucid dreams. So, are opiates known to cause CEV's?

When I take large doses of any good opiate I often get mild to intense CEV's. Very pleasant I might add. On very high doses when I start to nod off I experience full blown hallucinations that accompany the half awake/half asleep state. These include auditory, visual and tactile hallucinations namely. So, you're not alone...

Never once have I had any kind of visuals associated with any kind of opiates. Although sometimes when I get really loaded, I nod off and start to dream, but I think I'm still awake.

We're all here because we're not all there.

Opiates put me in delerious states when im nodding off so maybe that can explain the closed eye visuals, i dunno . . .

Yes.
Opiates, especially in high doses with non-tolerant users, can cause CEV's. However, they are not traditional CEV's in that they are most prevalent when the user is lying down and in a dream-like state. It's almost a dream, but the user is not asleep.

Opiates are very interesting in the way they can create a state of "suspended consciousness" .. you're not asleep, but you're not really awake - and yes, while in this state, some will get visuals, some will feel as though they are awake, and it makes your dreams seem a LOT more realistic...
Reason #4733 why you should make the switch to opiates/opioids..

I got cev's after months of no opiate usage, but recently I'be built up a tolerance and do not get them. I'm actually nodding off on 40mg's of Hydro at this moment. MMMMMMMMM I love my doctor!

The world can get pretty fucked up sometimes, so why can't I?

yes i've seen straight up tron cross-bred with salvador dali cev's after stomaching a bunch of tylenol 3's and ativan at one learning stage

I even get OEVs off some opioids, particulary tramadol. Doesn't seem to worsen my HPPD either. I haven't gotten any CEVs, but awesome daydreams.

Wilson, tell me, who diagnosed your HPPD? Chances are you do NOT HAVE SUCH A DISORDER as it is VERY RARE - the tracers you get and visuals you may get when sober do NOT mean you have HPPD...

HPPD or whatnot, I have a _very_ noisy vision ('static' covering everything) and lots of other oddities. I might not fulfill the criteria as it doesn't cause severe impairment, but it's still annoying. It's not just a little tracer now and then...

It's fairly common, definitly not HPPD...

Open eye visuals from Tramadol???? Shit, I guess I need to re-examine that powerful narcotic. Fuck bumbing a couple hundred mg of OC, just pop a couple Ultrams.

ive heard very strange/bad things about TRAMADOL, but i never had anything like it..i got drowsy, and thats about it...
i have never experienced visuals from OPIATES...would never want to either..
AHH, i used to LOVE taking a shot of good ole NUBAIN in the morning before i would get out of bed..the feeling was phenomenal..felt totally dreamy and orgasmic..i dont get as good a feeling from OC in the morning..im not sure why either..

Geez, maybe I should start selling some Ultram at OxyContin prices... it never so much as take away a headache, let alone give me visuals..

CEV on opiates are , at doses which I consider beyond recreational. I support what the general consensus is here, it happens when you borderline unconscious, it happens to me when I stop breathing for a few minutes. The visuals are dreamy, not tripy. I never say trippy visuals, like pallateing rotating colors or morphing, its like a dream while half awake half asleep. During an oxy overdose (wasnt tooo serious) I remember laying on the floor seeing sailboats, the harbor, and nice blue skies. Then I woke up and consciously realised my breathing was stopped, and I now had to do it manually. Dont forget to breath! Dont let your self fall asleep! I think thats how it works, at least for mee. I believe the slang is 'dope dreams'

Vehicle-I find it hard to believe you just 'stopped breathing' for a couple of miuntes. Perhaps you weren't *aware* of your breathing process or could not feel your lungs inhaling/exhaling, but you were breathing. An Oxy overdose is something potentially very serious and it takes a high level of opiates in a seasoned user to get to this point w/out any other drugs involved (benzos or other relaxers/downers). I believe everybody has their own definition for an 'overdose', but I think you would go unconscious, and not just get CEV's...
