Cerebral Palsy and Hallucinogenic drug use?

Hi there! So I recently made friends with a guy who has CP, and he's really into Further and the Dead and all that. I go to alot of fests, and I'm used to taking lots of hallucinogens and having a great time. He said he's done mushrooms before, but not enough to really get any visuals, but really wants to trip at a show and get that kind of experience. I'm all for showing people the other side, but I've searched through google and can't really find any information on hallucinogenic drug use and cerebral palsy together. The last thing I want to do is introduce someone with a disease to psychedelics and seriously fuck them up for life. If anyone has any kind of information that could help me out, please let me know! If I can't find anything on it I'm probably just not going to condone him doing it.

btw I forgot to mention that he only has CP mildly, as in he has trouble walking and is kind of shaky, but he's capable of driving and such

I don't think we have any reason to suspect a contraindication between CP and psychedelic use.

Pure speculation: Mild tremors are a common side effect of tryptamines, so that might get worse while he's on it. Also, wiki tells me CP sufferers are more likely to have epilepsy, and some people have been known to experience seizures on shrooms, so it is possible his risk of experiencing that side effect would be greater than that of the average person.

Hmm, sounds kind of risky. I'd love for him to experience a psychedelic trip, but I'd feel terrible if something were to happen :(

My brother has it and uses stims once a month or two (I believe, only following on from evidence found from his room when i had to help clear it out) but I have no idea about psychedelics.
I don't think they should even try dxm if they plan on walking anywhere though :L

Do blind people get CEVs?

Sorry I haven't checked this in a while, but, wow that is quite a coincidence there champ, thanks for the link. I'm still not totally sure about dosing my buddy, but maybe shrooms would be okay as long as it isn't a shit load. Thanks for the help, and MrPorter, that is a very good question, I always wondered what I trip would be like to someone who's been blind their whole life, I imagine it would be alot deeper and intense than what we would experience.

I have Mild CP, only tripped a few times and only had slight tightening of muscles and a bit shaky. Keep safe though!

This person is mobile so he doesn't have a severe form. CP is a motor impairment it has nothing to do with epilepsy, but seizures can still happen in some cases.

If your friend has a history of seizures at all then be very cautious. If he doesn't have that history then it should be safe. Whatever the case, start with a low dose.

Higher doses of psychs seem to prevent me from moving that much at all, so if he's spastic at all then it should theoretically calm it down. Like I said, theoretically.
