I have Cellulitis in my leg, I am 68 Years old and live in a SE Asian Country.
I have been given over the last 4 weeks 4 different antibiotics, still have symptoms and leg burns, moderate pain bun minimal swelling now.
Antibiotics, 2 days Keflex, 4 days Amoxi 875, change to Cipro 500 mg and Clinamicin 300 4X day 10 days. stop antibiotics for 1 week, leg still painful and draining from sores, on doxicillin 500 mg 4 days. I am taking Ibuprofin 600 mg q 4 hrs for pain. Now they want me to take Clarithromycin 500 mg 4X a day for 7 days and Clindamycin 300 2X a day along with Clarithromycin.

I live in a out of the way place and have had 2 doctors so far.
I will try the latest antibiotic combination starting tomorrow.
The pain is my problem as I can't sleep, any recommendation on how to control the pain.

Any in site in to this treatment will also be appreciated. advise also appreciated.
Thanks

cellulitis can kill you if it becomes bad enough. It sounds like yours is resistant to the antibiotics you've been taking. Either that or else you did not take them long enough. Please follow thru with the antibiotic treatments.

For the pain, you can try Dermoplast spray which is benzocaine 20% and menthol .5%. If you're not getting any opiod pain relievers, Aleve (naproxen sodium 220 mg) is a quick acting anti-inflammatory.

yeah, be very careful with cellulitits, it can lead to amputation or death if not properly treated. I'm surprised they haven't switched to an IV broad spectrum antibiotic.
