CD Social v. Stoned apes in orbit

It must be great to live somewhere with legal weed even if it's not legal for recreational purposes, just somewhere where they respect the plant.

I'm going to Amsterdam next week so i'm super excited (been before but didn't smoked), I know i may not find the best weed in the world but just the act of being able to do it legally and having a big strain selection is great.

I definitely don't hate it, but to be totally honest sometimes it does get old. If you are trying to abstain and LITERALLLY I cannot walk around my block(or probably any in my neighborhood) without getting a pretty strong wiff of herb. Makes it hard not to think about. yes, I'm bitching about there being too much fucking weed. lol...... guess it's not all bad... ^_^

All good... just trying to be real with you not trying to discourage.

I hear you!

I'm still not discouraged, though. ;)

Can't fail if I don't try, right? I don't plan on starting big but I do have grandiose dreams, I can say that for sure.

College degree tryin' to grow weed... hell, I fall in that category now, I guess! Haha... shit you not, the folks I've been talking this over with are, lo' and behold, my current weed connects. Grew up with 'em. I've got that "black market to legal" aspect pretty much covered, as they've both got experience growing in addition to networking and distribution (illicit as it may currently be.)

Worse comes to worst... I may have to drop the whole "legal" aspect, but fuck, man, I really want to do it legit.

Where exactly do the recreational stores source their product from? I don't mean like a specific source, I just mean vaguely. Does it come from "random" growers that bring in excess, or are there set contracts with larger distribution companies already in place? I find it hard to believe a store could produce all the product they sell themselves....

Grats on your 4kth post jibult :P

I imagen there are contracts from dispensaries sent out to growers to provide a certain amount of x and/or y strain per month (as to keep a consistent supply of the big name strains), but I think they also buy from people who offer them stock (as told to me by a friend in cali)
In the end I think it is up to the individual store to make that call, unless there are certain state laws in some places that put up road blocks in that department

The people who have the real edge that I see are the ones who transitioned from black market to legal market- already having the knowledge, industry connections, and capitol. Idk if you ever heard the term the "Green Rush" but this is exactly what it refers to. People- not just hippies either!!!!! People with money are traveling from all over the states to legal/friendlier states in hopes of making riches off of growing pot.
Unfortunately I believe that this is likely correct. I've already thought about this myself and put that on one of the reasons I should think about attempting to grow now.
I believe that canadian pot legalization is going to be following shortly behind the USA as it dominoes its way through its own legalization. (Seriously, wtf canada, I always thought we would be first)
I would love to be able to jump on the band wagon WITH experience when the time arrives.. Oh my dreams..
Of course my current "partner" would never "allow" it... *mumbles*

That's what I've heard as well....

People have told me it's awfully open for people trying to wholesale in similar areas, but those are people that don't actually live there so I take that with a grain of salt.

It's kind of why I want to go out and figure shit out for myself.

I feel like I'm getting off-base here. I don't want to veer this conversation into violating any of the BLUA....

Idk, Isn't it fine to speak hypothetically as long as no one is disclosing illegal plans in specific form or providing assistance to break the law?

Good!!! wasn't intended to discourage so much as inform. Believe me, I have gone through some major disappointments in this game. But all in all, I try to look at it like any other market/industry with it's own special advantages and disadvantages. If it is already an area of expertise then I personally think it a little silly to pass up on an opportunity to make money to go work a different(perhaps more stable) job that you hate vs take the risk.

As far as for CA and where the "legal" or "medicinal" weed comes from, most clubs deal with growers on an individual basis. If you are planning on selling to a club, most clubs have a specified amount that they will take(minimums and maximums... usually qp-lb). Pretty sure in CA all you need is your doctors rec and to set up a meeting with the vendor at the club(usually a specific guy). Most clubs want you to front them, don't tell you what you are going to get, then in a week or two they send you a check. So even the legal game is all about connections.

Millionaires are being made, or will very soon be made from legal weed. If you don't believe me, look at the people with real money and try and tell me that they are not already looking for a stronghold over the market.

See, that's the kind of thing I hear from word of mouth but it's hard for me to find online.

Again, I really appreciate your input on this, Mafioso-- thanks, man.

/\seeing some reasonable people in law enforcement does change my view somewhat.... although after having a roommate who could roll around with the darkest tinted windows and never get ticketed because every cop around town knows his dad(ex-cop)... then makes me not surprised at shit like Baltimore.

there is good and the bad in every batch. regardless of what it is.

Decided to do some psychedelic tribal art :)
What'chya think?

^^It's cool. I feel like there's a lot of blankness in the background, though....

Today's been fucked from the start.

Got into a little situation at work today. Dude hit me in the face with a 30lb box, I just hit him in the face.... like, more times than I can remember. He dropped to his knees with his back against the wall and caught a steel-toe boot to the mouth. Started leaking like a faucet, rocketed up to his feet and ran out of the building.....

There's been no supervisor in my area for like 3 weeks now... so I just looked at the other person back there like "Well.... what do I do now?" and we both just went back to work loading our trucks, throwing the dude's shit who ran out right into the back of his.

idk what to expect tonight/tomorrow but I've got a black eye and the back side of my hand is all cut up. So.....

I'm getting fucking wasted today, because tomorrow I might be looking for a new job, lol. Or end up meeting police when I go to clock in for the day....

I really just don't know what to expect, and that uncertainty's leading my straight to the bottle today, you guys.

Someone once said something like said:
Eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we may be unemployed.

He attacked you first Jib?

30lb box is a deadly weapon imo. You used equal force. But the steel toe was assault with a deadly weapon. Like even without the shoe on. So with the shoe on... hmm..

I'd get wasted with you from the Caribbean!

That was the third box he hit me with this morning, and just one thing amongst the mountain of fuck-ups he's been creating since they moved him into his current spot. The first two times cardboard hit me I left my area and searched the building to get management involved. The third time I didn't see any point to it and just walked around the belt right up to him. I didn't straight up hit him, though... I "bucked" at him like I was about to toss the package right back in his face, he said it'd be the last thing I'd ever do annnnnnnnd *blackness*

Fuck him. I feel justified, I just don't know how it's going to play out with my job. Might call in sick tomorrow to give my hand and eye time to heal before anyone inside gets a chance to see it.

^don't do that! you need pictures of your injuries to prove how much he injured you and that you were concerned for your safety...so had to respond.

That's really fucked up though, I hope it works out for you.

See, I don't even know if it'll go that route.

This might be the end of it, you know? The way my workplace is with turnover there's a good chance he'll never walk through those doors again.

Only one person witnessed it. Management was made aware of an escalating situation and chose to ignore it.... If I'm being honest, at the moment I wasn't concerned for my safety-- I was fed up with his work quality and how his mistakes were rolling down the belt and becoming my mistakes (hard to explain.... loading trucks with packages off of a conveyor belt, so if one person misses their package(s) somebody further down the belt is going to have to deal with it/them, giving that person more work that they technically shouldn't be touching.) I could've been quiet and kept getting dicked around, my shit getting thrown on the floor, packages thrown at me, just straight ignorance all-around-- yeah, I could've just smiled and taken it.

That option wasn't very appealing to me at the time, though, and you're right about the pictures. I still want to call out tomorrow, though.

Guys, if no one talks I'm gonna have to teach myself how to take good weed pics with my cellphone and dank out my living room without smoking anything.

I don't want to dank this bitch out for no reason. :(

Any of y'all seen Silicon Valley on HBO? Comes on right around the time new Game of Thrones episodes air. Fucking hilarious, dude, it's like HBO's version of The Big Bang Theory without Kaley Cuoco:

and just because it's relevant:

I feel for you jib, but I think as you know you were in the wrong. When it comes to work... sucks a dick to say but you have to put up with BS and be "professional". Being that you tried to make a complaint might help you if it becomes a legal situation- but that has a lot to do with how upper management handles it. They could act as though no previous action was taken and then you wouldn't be in that great of a spot....

I've been in situations pretty close to yours tho Jib and when someone catches you on the wrong day a the wrong moment and then responds badly about it- it's pretty fucking hard not to react badly about it all as well. IME, the employer will usually fire both of the people involved, regardless of who started it and who was in the right/wrong. Chest to chest with the bosses best friend... some hung over shit head all up in my face... I try to keep in mind the reason why I am at work tho. money.

Last place I worked was all temps- even the project manager($80k+/yr salary...) and damn near ANYTIME there was an injury, conflict, or problem more than likely someone or all parties involved were going to get fired. Shitty part of capitalism is that money is near God, and if you ain't got a lot of it then you're going to have to take what comes your way...

Best of luck tho Jib- my best advice is to try to get in touch with this guy on a personal, apart and away from work. Try to reason with him, maybe to do something to make up for splitting his face open and you both can keep your jobs. IME even hard-asses will be reasonable if you appraoch them right.

Trying not to blaze ATM... need to find myself a different job ASAP.
