I know it's no excuse, but that's the main reason I haven't voted since Nixon/McGovern in 1972. We really don't have but 2 choices = Republican or Democrat. It'll be 1 or the other...& I don't consider that a democracy. Sure, there's numerous other Parties to choose from...but when you get down to brass tacks, it's gonna be 1 or the other.
There should just be a list of 10-12 people to choose from. No Political Parties in the least!! Just 10-12 decent Candidates & the 1 who gets the most votes, wins. Keep it simple. Fuck this Republican/Democrat horseshit. The person who's the most popular with the public, wins!!
 
Have a happy and SAFE 4/20 everyone. Went out earlier today and I swear I saw like 10+ cops all at different places with radars on a 30 minute drive to my eye doctor. Today is their day to fuck people over and they know that, so please stay safe and try not to drive too much or they'll getcha ;)

IMO I feel like this is the one of the worst days you can go out and drive with bud/ paraphernalia or being high, but to each their own. I mean come on, cops aren't that dumb to not know

The more you believe you only have two choices, the more it becomes a reality.

If enough people believed that they really had a third option, they would actually vote for 3rd party candidates.

You might as well go vote 3rd party, even if it's for some communist you don't even agree with, just to stick it to the 2 party system. That would be better, even as someone who hates the idea of communism, just to get change rolling ahead.

Man I wish Ohio would step up their game and get us a medical program. It was supposed to be on the ballot last year, but it never happened. We needed a certain number of signatures which didn't come through but honestly it's because lazy stoners like me who need to get up off their ass and try to make a change instead of rely on everyone else. I mean I'm not even registered to vote still :/. It's probably very unlikely it would pass the first few times, but at least it would be a step forward. Maybe once some other states progress we'll get on board. I'm thinking with in the next 5-10 years. No doubt. I'll probably be gone by then though off to Colorado/California/Washington/whatever state legalizes by the time I'm done with school.

I have been voting for years. As many elections I can make (city/state/pres) and we keep trying to get Medical Marijuana here is South Dakota. Doesn't look good tho. So happy 420! Hope everyone is having a very relaxing day.. It's snowing here again. Been awhile since it snowed on 420 8(

Snowing here as well, and it was 60 degrees + outside yesterday and 70+ the day before. Another reason I want to get the hell out of here. Besides that, hopefully all states progress and get a MMJ program/legalize within the next few years. How can they not? Think of all that economic stimulation, I don't understand why it hasn't happened sooner. Pisses me off though tbh, I see signs all over about opiate addiction/how to get help on the side of the road and so many peoples lives here have been fucked up because of prescription meds but we continue to offer that as the only option. Why?

Anyway I agree with you about the economic stimulation...it just seems so stupid to me (and maybe I am missing something) but, wouldn't it be more beneficial to legalize, regulate, and tax-to bring money in, rather than spend a butt load on prosecuting offenders, spending money on task forces and so on and so forth? Hopefully legaliztion would bring around American prison reform, and help some of the chronic pain pts that are rapidly becoming dependent if not full blown addicted.

I'm in Ohio and I 100% agree with you. I'm really young, I'm only 20, and I've lost too many friends / people in high school because of opiates/benzos. I think my senior year out of ~400 in my graduating class we had 6 deaths due to drug overdose which is so incredibly sad all due the vast amount of opiates/benzos floating around. While I personally didn't know some of these kids, I feel like if they had access to other stuff besides prescription pain/anxiety meds they'd still be here with us. It's unreal how much easier it is to get opiates/benzos here than finding some good bud.
 
I am a lot older than you and it was nothing like that when I was in high school. Kids in my school barely knew what vicodin or xanax was. Things have changed a lot. The only thing that hasn't changed is "The War on Drugs". Only, most people have it the wrong way around. I can find loads of 'scripts and hardly any bud. It's so backward and ridiculous, but that's South Dakota for you.:\
 
Oxycodone in moderation is a lovely thing, though.

Every other weekend keeps my habit at bay, and this weekend just so happens to be one of them.

Man there's no way I could do that. Before the switch from OC's to OP's I had a little problem and my brother had a big problem. I finally got my shit together but it was awhile before my brother really came to terms with his problem and started to deal with it. Before that it was constant stress, whenever I got a call past like 8 PM from my parents I really expected the worst. I've never been so worried about anything in my life. I'll never go down that path again, even if I'm in serious need. That shit fucked up my family so bad for a few years my dad recently almost cut off his finger in a metal gate which almost severed it off completely and he took a bunch of lidocaine shots to the hand instead of being put out and he never took any of his percocets. No go for me anymore.

Props to you though for being able to handle it every once in awhile. I'd have little self control over that and would be a dope fiend in no time if I still was messing around with that
 
I'm very sorry that you had to go and are going through that. It really sucks and can really destroy a lot of lives, including the one's we love.

I still really like opiates tho :\

I just broke my bong & I don't even know how as it has never been dropped or knocked. There is a tiny crack 1/2 way up the chamber & a small chip came out :?. The silver lining in all this is it will force me to use my vape full time now. Elbow packs of bud, kief, bud sandwich get me massive rips & i'm loving the Extreme more & more.
 
I hear alcohol rage outside my apartment. I'm not even involved and I'm nervous. My neighbor and his friend drunk as hell at 1 am going at it because he made his girlfriend cry and the other guy is realllyyyyy upset about it. I can't make out all of it I'm listening through the walls but damn the cops were here two nights ago at the other place next to me I hope they don't show up again. Sounds like someone is getting their ass beat, keep hearing screaming / loud pounding upstairs. Really hope everything turns out OK :/

Omg. Now a girl is yelling. I'm like 3 seconds away from calling the cops. Fucking ridiculous.

Andddd I called. There's a guy who got thrown out the apartment next to me yelling shit trying to get back inside while the neighbor couple who live next to yell obscenities at him. Can't stand drunk people who can't keep their shit together. I'm like 7-8 beers drunk and I'm functioning great ;). If only I could get some sleep now that would be lovely.

There isn't a chance in our lifetime (maybe yours, but not mine. I'm almost 60 & nothing's changed in the 42 yrs since I've been eligible to vote) that a 3rd Party will ever win any Office...all the way from President to Councilman. People are too afraid of change...just look at the Drug War.
The entire System needs revamping...a complete revolution...or we're going to be just spinning our wheels until the end of the World. The miniscule of votes for a 3rd Party hasn't done a thing in the 4 decades I've been observing...& we'll never see anyone in Office except a Democrat or a Republican.
Your idea is great...it's just that it won't catch on.
