Causes of Injection Site Pain?

Usually when injecting drugs, it's pretty much painless, but I have one vein in particular that always hurts when I attempt to use it - what are the possible causes of this pain and should I stop using this vein? Other than the (minimal) pain when the needle goes in, there are no other complications - no irritation, bumps, swelling, etc., and I don't use this particular vein any more often than my other veins so I don't think it's overuse that's causing it.

Well, it could be a variety of things, which is the trouble when trying to address threads with so many potential variables. Where is the vein located that you are trying to use?

perhaps scar tissue from earlier use?
i would cycle your iv sites more and avoid this area
