I DO NOT use pre-packaged products sold at head shops just to clarify. I have done everything I can think of to get my best friend to just wait for the pure product, but he won't. He is getting more and more addicted to this. Substituted cathinones are banned and considered a felony in the state where he purchases his, what they call, "White Girls Pleasure Cream."

I am extremely experienced with Methylone and have quite a bit of experience with Mephedrone. Of course, as a lover of Entheogens and Empathogens, Methylone is far better in my opinion. However, my question is simple. I am very familiar with the taste of cathinones. I have tasted, in the literal sense of the word, the product he purchases frequently. It tastes like very impure Mephedrone, and from the effects I've observed with him, it seems a small amount of MDPV is present as well.

If anyone has tried 6-APB, MDAI, 4-FA, 4-FMA, etc, as well as the cathinones, I am asking if they have a very similar taste? With my moderate chemistry knowledge and experience, I doubt these would taste quite like cathinones. I would expect a more stricktly bitter taste. I am just curious.

Another quick and much less important question is this; Is anyone familiar with the product I am mentioning?

If you're looking for a substance ID based on the taste of these various chemicals...that's not going to happen. We don't do substance IDs here. Have your friend send whatever it is that he's taking to a lab for proper analysis. It could be anything.
 
I',m from the UK and we seem to be a but ahead of the states (for once) on this one. Cathinones were banned here over 12 months ago but before that you could either purchase named chemicals from vendors or packed "bath salts" and similar both from head shops and online.

Even with the best online vendors there you could be sure what you were getting any more than you can buying illegal substances from dealers but some had a better name than others and the products especially methyalone and Methadrone were pretty consistent although MDPV which is a very potent stimulant and one which I believe has become popular in the states was a little more hit and miss and caused more than a few psychotic episodes.

I wouldn't touch any of those branded powders the names mean nothing, anyone can print up label and put power in a bag its just not worth the risk
 
All the cathinones have the same distinctive taste+smell - that smell is sufficient to determine that there are probably cathinones in the mix, but you can't tell which ones or how much.

MDAI, the flouroamphetamines, and the APB's do not have that cathinone smell.
 
Actually, I really want to send it in for analysis, but I am not really looking for an ID here. I am just looking for a general opinion from those experienced with any of these substances and information on unique tastes, because cathinones have a very unique taste. I know better than to try to ID a substance/substances this way.
