Hello all. I'm new here, but I've lurked extensively and found this site very informative. I don't think I'm breaking any rules here, but please inform me (or delete this) if I am :)

My knowledge and experience with substances is pretty limited. After reading a lot of articles and trip reports, I'm having a difficult time getting a real breakdown on 4-AcO-MiPT, 4-HO-DiPT, 4-AcO-DET and 4-HO-MET and the differences their structures have on effect. It's really hard to find any consensus on these by just reading vastly differing reports, so I was wondering if anyone who knows a bit about one or more of these can categorize or rank them in terms of the following:

1. 'Easiest' - lack of 'edginess' and anxiety, smoothest come-up and come-down, least likely to result in a bad trip
2. Most 'Social' - clear-headedness, still able to feel/act like one is in the same room, not too impairing
3. Lowest Body Load - low or no strange shuddering, no noticeable increase in heart rate

My research on these four has been leading me in circles and I felt more direct input was needed. I welcome any other info or help with this topic.

I have experience with the 4-sub -mipt, -dipt, and -met varieties out of the ones you listed. I'll try to answer your questions as best I can.

1. Most mellow would be iprocin, or 4-ho-dipt. It has very little anxiety potential compared to the rest, and it is the smoothest and least likely to get you in to headfuck realms.

2. Most social - I feel they are all very social in low doses, but have the potential to be profound in higher doses. Again, iprocin is probably the one that you can push the dose high whilst in a social setting and still maintain a sense of rapport.

3. Lowest body load - they all cause somewhat of a bodyload, but the bodyload is different on each one. It is in keeping with the mental character of the trip. In terms of intensity, they are all pretty much equal.

I have no experience with the 4-sub-det variety so I can't comment on that. Yet... :)

Thanks for the response :D

I did read that iprocin was a bit of the odd one out of those (apparently it's 'sexual'? :o). Can you possibly describe the body load of iprocin? I read about some 'uncontrollable shuddering' with the acetoxy, but haven't specifically heard anything like that with 4-HO-DiPT.

4-aco-dipt's bodyload for me was almost non-existant, with a more body-orgasm type feel to it. This was at a lowly 26mg mind you.
I would highly recommend it though, even for social settings. {at this low dose at least}

4HO-DIPT was one of my first RC's. I had pleasant low/regular dose experiences, featuring some slight body tremors. There is interesting audio modulation as well.
One 30mg trip caused considerable shuddering, but it was not unpleasant. Kind of kinky, similar though not as strong as those of DPT. 4AcO-MIPT was not greatly different. Hard to gauge due to the amount of time between experiences.
I highly recommend 4AcO-DMT for several reasons. It has a gentle onset orally. If you are experienced with Mushrooms, the bodily sensations are very similar but gentler. I feel comfy pushing it with higher doses. 4HO-DMT can be perhaps a little more hectic, but it's profile is not too far from that of 4AcO-DMT in my experience. Opinion is divided over this.
All the 4 subs that I've tasted are interesting in their own particular way. However, the further away from the DiMethyl N substituent they get, the further away from familiar mental headspace I get. DMT, 4sub or 5 sub always seem to put me in a familiar, though unpredictably bizarre place. However, the other N substitutions tend to be more alien in tone. This is not a bad thing as such. Sometimes a walk on the wild side is just what the doctor ordered. Just pointing out. I am more cautious dosing these materials than the DMT based ones.
As for uncontrollable shuddering, I reckon sometimes people get panicked by unfamiliar bodily sensations. If you can't stop a juddering tremor, why try? Obviously flailing around and injuring yourself is best avoided, but otherwise, let the drug take it's course. Fighting against the issue is futile while your body is still dealing with the material. These sensations can be interesting and, as the above post suggests, bordering the erotic. One man's freakout is another man's pleasure. A question of interpretation.
Don't take my word for it though. Have fun. I have a real soft spot for the 4 sub tryptamines and hope you have some cool experiences.
Peace -Pipp

Please edit your post d-chaser, and change the parts where you state to be interested in the compounds since it totally looks like your comparison is meant to select a compound to buy. We discourage that and beseech you to check threads like the following ones:

http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/threads/342042-The-Main-Favorite-4-substituted-Tryptamine-Thread

It's vital that you do your research by investigating separate compounds but on the other hand I understand the value of trying to find SAR-like connections. So can you make it more specifically about finding correlations between compounds structures and the properties you listed? This implies ranking but it is best to avoid classifying some compounds as best and other as worst. Effects vary greatly between individuals so ideally an attempt at an objective view is more helpful than a thoroughly subjective one.

In terms of rules this is a grey area - I think this one is in the clear, but I urge you to use wording that keeps is out of the 'which compound should I buy and use' area and the similar ranking threads that are worth less than anecdotal evidence. We do concentrate it in the threads that have polls to actually gather enough datapoints to gauge popularity.

For that you should check the Psychedelic Index (link is in my signature), and fold out the list of threads in there marked by:

Have not tried 4-HO-DiPT.

4-HO-MiPT (generally, the 4-HO's and 4-AcO's are very hard to tell apart) has the roughest comeup. I've taken it on 2 or 3 occasions, and every time, there's been an odd, sort of uncoordinated phase in the comeup. Quite unusual for a psychedelic.

4-HO-MET is least deep. Also seems most friendly, in terms of not producing anxiety andbeing overall controllable

4-HO-DET is hard for me to distinguish from mushrooms/4-AcO-DMT.

Visually, 4-HO-MET was most visual, followed closely by 4-HO-MiPT, then by 4-HO-DET and 4-AcO-DMT (can't put 4-HO-DMT/Psilocin in the comparison, since mushrooms don't come with a label on them stating the concentration of actives - but they should be comparable to 4-AcO-DMT; certainly, qualitatively, I can't tell them apart).

@PippUK: Thanks for the detailed info and recommendations.
@Solipsis: Thanks for the links and thanks for the heads up ;)
@Everyone else: Thanks for the info and the responses.

I'll continue collecting data and see where my renewed thirst for chemistry takes me =D

4-HO-MET is a very friendly and highly visual tryptamine I highly recommend it, next to no bodyload and doesn't cause anxiety at all.

I had the chance to try some of these around a year ago.

I preferred the 4-HO-MET to the 4-ACO-MiPT. The former is lighter & shorter, more colourful, less introspective than the latter. They will both be familiar to anyone who has used varying types & doseages of psylocybin mushrooms.

I also tried 4-HO-MiPT at about the same time &, although not in your list, I felt a worthy psychedelic with similarities to both of the above compounds.

None of the above compounds felt particularly uncomfortable physically. Although they all carried that tense "Tryptamine-Tripping" feeling around the base of the spine & shoulders it was very mild compared to pretty much every other psychedelics I've ever tried.
