We're teetering.

A precipice tightrope
toeing the line.

Dancing in circus spot-lights
Soft lights through
Carnival-glass eyes.

In time-to-time's
cracking whip
and
I'm one
step
behind.

But you're stepping on my toes
after cutting in, with a bruise
on your shoulder.

Too tough for a simple
chip.

Like mid-air amoeba
Aerobic protean proteins
cellular extensions reaching
for lymph-node limbs
before falling towards

(me)mory.
