Misc Carisoprodol Or Meprobamate?

Opinions? I'm currently prescribed Carisoprodol (Soma) and need to take a break from it to get my tolerance down and I was looking into Meprobamate (Milltown). So anyone with experience with both would be greatly appreciated.

They essentially do the same thing, so your tolerance will still go up...

Best you can do is take a break...

While carisoprodol metabolizes to meprobamate, the former exerts activity distinct from the latter (as evident by the biphasic nature of soma intoxication), and the mechanism of either isn't entirely understood.

Essentially is the key word.

They are both going to build you more tolerance to GABAergic agonistic type drugs.

There isn't a way around that besides abstinence.

mepes all the way. have found it to be the best codeine and oxycodone potentiator out there.

My Doc used to give me almost anything I asked for (for sleep) since he knew I'd done a ton of research. Meprobamate was kind of a letdown IMO. I actually preferred carisopridol. I would rotate and experiment with different things each month to prevent tolerance.

Really though if it's to get tolerance down, it's like comparing red apples to green apples. I never took either for more than a month though, and Meprobamate I never went back to.

Baclofen works on a different GABA system(I think? pretty sure). So you could try that.

Dantrolene sodium is a great muscle relaxer, but doesn't possess the opioid-potentating properties of Soma or Miltown, so if you're on opioid scripts for pain you may need an increase, tbh.
