Soma was removed from the canadian pharmacopeia in 1999 so i never got a chance to try it. But I found a vendor and 20g of it is coming my way. It's not scheduled or anything here, just removed from the script pad possibilities. After reading how awesome it is for a decade+, I wanna know what is the general consensus about it. I'm mostly going to use it to help with benzo tolerance withdrawal, I need the deep muscular relaxation I used to get from benzos again, my forearms are constantly rigid feeling and my legs too to some degree. Does it have painkiller sparing properties ? If it can make me use less bupe (I'm tapering) and less of my benzo scripts, it's going to be a god sent. Basically I took the plunge, I could have gotten 10g of etaqualone for about the same price, I have a lot of good experience with it, especially when eating some then smoking the freebase, dat muscle relaxation, it's so deep (from etaqualone). Should I expect the same kind of strong muscle relaxation.

Take into account I have massive benzo tolerance and am a very well seasoned psychonaut/accident-related junkie who possesses a chemical engineering degree (not practicing due to too many health problems) and I have experience with all sorts of things. I know what I'm doing and it cannot be worse than IV'ing Dilaudid and HM Contins all day when I was losing control a couple years ago.

Any hints and tips are welcome, if it can make me stop using Tagamet 600mg rx pills, I'll be glad too, I can feel the stuff fucking with my stomach/liver after 5 months of using it almost daily (blood tests say all is fine, but I don't want them to say they are not in the near future, I know taking H2 antagonists for a long time is a bad idea, same with proton pump inhibitors.

Dosing more than 1g of Carisoprodol a day (even worse, all at once), gave me some really bad "Soma Shakes," and I believe I even had a small seizure at the end of my Soma binge.

It is a very dirty-feeling drug, more akin to barbiturates than benzos. I would be very careful with your dosing, since it is quite different than the benzo high and can cause all sorts of weird side effects. They are best used with opiates as nod-potentiators, although I would only take 350mg or less with your opiate dose. It removes much of the euphoria you get from opiates, but greatly increases the gouch/nod effects, which is why I would recommend no more than 350mg when mixed with other CNS depressants.

Same situation, got scripted Soma around 05 and found out from the pharmacies it had been taken off the market in 04, got Baclofen instead which is a truly horrible drug like Lyrica but even more side effects.

I've been lucky to try rare benzos like midazolam and really nice barbiturates like amobarbital, which is the last of the barbiturates (good ones) that I still have access to and I consider Soma to be *almost* as recreational/euphoric as good barbs, I would still have amobarbital over soma however soma is much better than butabital or phenobarbital or even a lot of benzos in my opinion.

I've never had the famous 'Doors & 4s' combo 1 Doriden & 2 Tylenol 4s even though I had access to Doriden up to 2004, I found out about it much later around 2011. I consider the combo of Soma + Codeine/or whatever opiate to be the modern equivalent of doors & 4s, like benzos replacing barbs.

I'm on 4mg clonazepam/day since 04' & I originally got the Soma and barbs with the same intention of tapering/quitting benzos but they became additions if anything.

In conclusion I would choose Soma over benzos (temazepam & nitrazepam are nice). Also Soma potentiates opioids in a way that benzos simply do not.

With suboxone i've heard that almost all CYP2D6 inhibitors will drastically increase the effects of the opioid, as opposed to methadone where its the opposite, the methadone is removed from the body much more rapidly.

I'm pretty sure soma involves CYP2C 19 enzyme, while barbiturates involve CYP2D6. With CYP2D6 its esp important to know if on methadone it will significantly lower the methadone levels is the body though this is theory since alcohol & benzos involve the same enzymes. Also i've taken methadone & amobarbital later on in the day with good results but it does take slightly more for the same results as they counter act each other and I wasn't even on MMT so noticed the methadone didn't last as long nor was as strong as usual. Once on 120mg phenobarbital & 2x my normal MMT dose felt like I had taken little to no methadone, on the other hand on MMT I took St. John's Wort without being aware of its CYP2D6 effects for several months daily & didn't notice much lessening in effects & whenever it happened I attributed it to the anti depressive effects (increased serotonin & dopamine).

In conclusion, Soma is one of my favorites as it offers pain killing effects in addition to its extremely wonderful relaxant effects, no amnesia, a marked ability to focus and remember in comparison to benzos, so they are like barbiturates in these ways. Too much of course (usually over 1g or 3 pills) will impair your cognitive skills but much less than benzos.

p.s. I've had ethaqualone both smoked & orally and in my experience it wasn't anywhere near as relaxing as you describe it nor anything to write home about maybe cross tolerence with benzos can explain it but then again soma and barbs seem to work on me independent of benzo tolerence just like alcohol

I guess b/c of my daily benzo use I never experienced the Soma shakes or shuffle. I would dose about 750mg-1050mg 2-3 times a day, mostly along with 2-3 Tylenol 4s both at the same time, the Soma kicks in the fastest quicker than codeine about 30 min maximum. I've had about 3g of Soma a day at the most and 2g-2.5g usual/average dose.

I've mixed Soma with Tramadol many times also with the Tramadol exceeding 400mg but not by more than 100mg-200mg, also with no side effects.

This could be due to having clonazepam in my system but if that is the case than I would advise having a small amount of benzos on hand when dosing chemicals that put you at risk of seizure, preferably long lasting like 0.5mg clonazepam, 5-10mg diazepam, 10-20mg oxazepam just for the anti convulsive action.

350mgs of Soma with 20mgs of hydrocodone is awesome..... .the pain relief is good as well.

I've taken Soma with codeine as well, tramadol & oxy but prefer it with hydrocodone. I've never taken more than 1 (350mgs) at a time & space the time out about 4 hours.

Don't take more than a gram at a time. Too much soma is not fun...I, at least, ended up with severe ataxia and couldn't talk, couldn't walk, couldn't do shit! Total couchlock.

Yeah, great advice above in all posts, cant really say anything that has not been mentioned, heed their advice!

Soma is awesome when dosed correctly and respected. It's a great potentiator to oxy or hydrocodone as well.

Again, 2 or 3 of the 350mg's (taken alone) will do the trick.
