What's good people, been a while since I've popped my head in here. Figured I should share this for the good people of PD, have been doing reading lately on Holy Basil or more accurately Ocimum tenuiflorum. A staple for many thousands of years in ayurvedic medicine, I will soon be experimenting with it as a cocktail with harsher amphetamine psychedelics to see if it doesn't calm my nerves some and lower the distracting hypertension I sometimes experience with phenethylamines. I'll update the status of my personal experiments here, in the mean time if anyone else decides to use this before I do please report your experience. Could be like a cardio-condom on those speedy soupy nights.

I seem to be more negatively effected by amphetamines in this respect, maybe my diet is to blame. I'm going to be using this tea daily for 30 days before my next dosage.. I know all the members of PD can't have perfect diets lol...

Haha in most cases amphetamines are good themselves at trimming off fat deposits.

Rhodiola would be more effective, or kava kava. Rhodiola moderates the amount of adrenaline that is secreted by your adrenal glands, thus preventing 'adrenaline burn' to your heart. Kava is like herbal xanax. Turmeric is also good for the heart.

Perhaps best of all is l-theanine. It lowers blood pressure/high heart rate induced by too much caffeine. I imagine it would work the same with other stimulants.

Yes also if some speculated herb or drug actually were to reduce cardiac stress it would be suspected to act basically as a beta-blocker. Now if alpha-adrenoceptors are blocked as well by the herb or drug that *could* be something but I think it is strongly recommended not to try and moderate stimulant effects that way!

I like holy basil in my Pho noodles.
I don't think that eating it will prevent possible cardiotoxicity from amphetamines, though.

For instance I've read that one of the actives in kava kava is a MAO-B inhibitor - I can't imagine that being very protective in combination with amphetamines...

Actually MAOB inhibitors are neuroprotective because they prevent oxidation of dopamine which can damage 5HT neurons.

some serious speculation...
I don't believe any of these will provide significant protection to your heart and could do more harm than good.

Nope, not much speculation, just facts. Kava is not going to cause you more damage. It could potentiate the adderall a bit, but I doubt it would be anything dangerous to one's health. The relaxing effects would theoretically balance those effects. Now that is a bit of speculation.
