Car accident left me in constant neck/spine pain.

I am glad you're both going to your appointment, you will get more support with your father there and the dr will listen more.

If you need to vent hit me a pm and I'll get back to you when I can, feeling a little groggy and out of it from my antipsychotics, morphine, anrihistamines and diazepam.

Miss ya doomed for them short days I was gone!

I did, I wrote him a 3 page letter explaining how my depression has gotten worst. And that I don't feel like myself anymore. I know I shouldn't be thinking like this, but when you have a father like I do, you tend to keep things to yourself. I've been locking all my pain up inside, and I can't do it no more. My girlfriend is the only one who knows because she had to wake me up when she found my limp body in the car. She's been there for me, but I need my father too also. He's going to the doctor with me tomorrow.

I second the recommendations for gabapentin or pregabalin. Also, you said you were on an anti-depressant? Which one? Some antidepressants can actually help neuropathic pain a lot, such as amitryptiline and desimpramine.
Secondly, use NSAIDs. I know it may not feel like they're doing much, but they can really help, plus they might be able to prevent further nerve damage.
If you can get it, check out proglumide. It can add to opioid analgesia, as well as help prevent the development of tolerance. Plus, there's evidence from other CCK antagonists that it may help better with neuropathic pain than traditional opioids.
Also, maybe check out tapentadol/tramadol. They have additional mechanisms of action beyond the simple opioid component, and it makes them better for neuropathic pain. From the sounds of it, your main guy probably won't prescribe tapentadol, but it also sounds like tramadol may be too weak for your needs.

I really hope things get better for you, and that this injury is only temporary.

You have to be careful with tramadol, pregabalin or gabapentin and certain antidepressants, my dr prescribed mr gabapentin, Prozac and tramadol and I ended up in hospital after 6 weeks, serotonin syndrome.

I currently am on 300mg Welbutrin. I was givin' tramadole to try out, and yeah it didn't do a thing for my pain. Still had major pain.

Am I under oath? lol

Don't minimize it because it means that you need to be extra careful. You said yourself that
you detoxed yourself off of Opana that you had obtained illicitly. No one, and certainly not
me, is suggesting you should go without adequate pain relief after what sounds like a
horrible accident, but your brain is primed for misuse in the way that the average person
without the same prior opiate abuse is not. Take it or leave it.

when opiates are used from pain you don't get a buzz so it's not as dangerous for psychological addiction rather than just physical dependence and tolerance, the best thing to remember is that you will never be pain free while being treated, that is not the point in pain management, the point it to make you as comfortable and as low on the pain scale as possible. The lowest I ever got was a 7 on a good day and that was with 75mch ph fentanyl patches, and 60mg oer day of ir oxycodone. If you keep chasing to be "pain free" then you are set up to be sorely disappointed.

Update:

My doctor did physical tests on my and I did very poorly. Alot more pain than I expected I was in. I am going for physical therapy this week. I was prescribed again Hydrocodone 5/500 and SOMA 350mg. I got a good supply of both, but needed to take 5 hydros just to get a little pain relife. My job was placed on hold and I got a notice from my doctor for a dissability excuse from work. I am in great pain now and just want to lay down! Hopefully physical therapy is the trick.

Missy- I get where your coming from. I just now wish I never abused opitates because now I need them more than ever and I still have such a great tolerance. It sucks.

How was physio? You will be in a lot of pain for a few days after it, so when you have your appointment clear the next few days of anything that requires physical exertion and rest up but make sure you do the home exercises little and often that is imperative, if you don't do them more problems will occur etc

waiting for the doctors office to give me a call to set everything up. Hopefully they will call today. I'm not going to take any hydro's today even though I really need them at the moment. 1 is deffinatly not enough for the pain and every 8 hours? Give me a break. Slept for a good 2 hours. Wow this sucks

You could do with gabapentin Hun ASAP. It is better for nerve pain, ring your dr and ask for them, they are not opiates so he will probably prescribe them no problem. Will help you sleep too.

Are you keeping up with your pain and anxiety journals?

Love annealing thoughts to you <3

I'll look int it for sure. I just feel it wrong to ask my doctor for drugs. I know he works for me, but still it's just I think my doctor is thinking im looking all this shit up and asking him if I can try them out, i don't know feels weird. If anything I'd say, "Hey doc, order me a script of them opana 40's ASAP!" lol! Ohh.... I wish... I wish. I really is at the moment the only thing that helps me, but I know it'
s just because I'm used to it. Haven't had any from last time. I felt so good that day, like I was back to normal... shit

Doom I really thank you for all this advice, you are a godsend to this forum! <3

Say that your spoke to a pain patient online who has crps and that I suggested if for nerve pain. You're welcome, pm me your live/man address and we can chat im style if you want? <3

That's simply not true. Plenty of pain patients use their meds to get high, marking the beginning of their dependency.

Dosn't help that Also had a broken rib before the accident. Then got into the accident and really fucked up my rib again. Smashed into the stearing wheel. Bent the steering wheel, and then I blacked out. It's really hurting and also hard to sit.

I'd say maybe look into either Lyrica or Neurontin on top of the Vicodin, or a higher dose of opiates for analgesia. What muscle relaxant are you on? Anything but Soma or Milltown, and I wouldn't be surprised it isn't helping. You can also try naproxen sodium (Aleve) or ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) on top of what you are taking.

Would Lyrica help with chronic back muscle pain as well, or just pinched nerves? Could back muscle pain be associated with nerves?

They use them to get high if they are not serious about their pain management. I take as prescribed at all times.

Woke up quick, right around noon just thought that I was gunna be in pain soon! Gotta get up before my pain begins before my medication stops working within'.

Caved in, I've been in major pain latly. I don't take my hydros, but I've been loading myself up on SOMA Muscle relaxers. Well since today is Xmas eve, that means I had to atleast be with family. I wasn't going to go out today, just because I feel misrable and in pain. I got an Opana 20 just so that I can atleast walk, and feel somewhat normal. 20mg is perfect for me cause I'm no where near nodding (which I am not even aiming for) but it makes me feel like I'm my old self again. The pain is still there, but atleast I am able to deal with it and maybe go out to see my family later. What can I do to prolong the effects of Opana? I haven't taken it yet due to it seems to wear off faster than usual and everything dosn't start till another 5-6 hours. I got ganja but I don't want to look ripped out of my mind seeing my family. I have to much respect for them to see my like that.
