Hi everyone. I'm new to this site, and looking forward to getting amongst it all. After many years of abstinence I now find I'm having to self medicate for Chronic pain. I'm currently trying to wean myself off the prescription stuff, and going for the more gentle opiate teas etc. We'll see how it goes, and I'm sure I can get some real and decent advice from other members. Here's Cheers, let the enlightenment begin.!!

Howdy Captaininevitable! :)

Was sort of pain are you experiencing? I'm dealing with muscle rigidity, where muscle contractions are iregular and painful. I wish I can control them but I can't.

I find great relief from this agony by focusing my mind elsewhere, on stuff that makes me happy.

It's an amazing decision to wean(awesome vocabulary!) off the stronger, more potent oiates because they are more addictive and cause more adverse effects.

I've had more awful effects from oxycodone and oxycontin. Severe opiate itch and nausea which led to drastic vomiting. The hangover after wasn't so pleasant either.

While codeine didn't produce such undesired outcomes, not even a single hangover nor overwhelming histamine enriched nuisance.

If you wish to further discuss opiates:

If you have any questions, I'm sure we can help you.

Thanks CC. I have a condition where all my cartilage in hips, knees, etc just gets really thin and atrophies, so bone on bone action ensues, and it's just constant throbbing pain. I am taking Lyrica, which stops your electrical signals to the brain, but it's really of limited use, the amounts you need make you very disassociated to reality, it's like you're driving a giant marshmallow over a velvet rug. So today I decided to try opium pod tea, umm, I'm off my trolley, but absolutely no pain, and calm and happy for the first time in a long while. I think I've drunk a little too much, but it's really working. It's like the pain is sitting the other chair, and I can observe it, but not feel it. x x . I forgot how nice raw opium is for pain relief. My heart goes out to you with the rigid muscle stuff etc. That loss of power over your body makes me really crazy with frustration. hope it gets easier for you. file://localhost/Users/adamsynnott/Desktop/Screen%20shot%202014-02-13%20at%209.22.31%20PM.png
