You know the normal capsules that usually are used for supplements and stuff.. I was wondering if those gelatin or w/e they are made out of act as a sorta "Extented Release"? I've heard from some people on here that they do, but im not too sure... anyone know how long it takes for the capsules to dissolve in ones empty stomach? I have just always wondered as I take supplements that are in capsules.

No, they are effectively IR. Gelatin dissolves in a matter of minutes, and most pharma pills that are IR will be using the same sort of capsules.

ive heard people say that it takes a bit longer for whatever drug to get into your system in a capsule rather than a tablet. but the difference would be a matter of minutes and after it would still be IR, just with a slightly longer onset.

The difference between gelatin capsules and tablets is negligible. There are many, many variables that make more of a difference, things like what you ate and when. So no use worrying about whether capsules absorb well - they do.
