Benzos Can't stay awake on Alprazolam

Yesterday I took three 0.25mg tabs of Alprazolam at 5PM, and I had 5 cups of coffee earlier morning. I had an enjoyable time briefly but I dosed off by 5:30 and felt asleep. I got woken up by a phone call by a friend at 9:30PM and I went out at 10. Before heading out I took 2 tabs (0.5mg) and when I met my friends I had a beer with another 2 tabs. I played some PES with my friends and I had a good time and felt relaxed and pretty chill. Before going back home I bought 2 beers, drank one on my way home and the other one I drank it home with one 100mg tablet of Tramadol and one tab of Alprazolam, I felt amazing and put some music on but after that I don't remember a thing other than eating an apple and smoking few cigarettes. Today I woke up at 8AM with the music still playing on my laptop without much memory of what happened after I took the tramadol and benzo pills.

I can't complain much as it was the best and most relaxing sleep I had in long time. But I'm wondering why I couldn't stay awake. Few of my friends tell me that they take 2mg of benzos and can stay awake, but that doesn't seem to work for me. When I mixed benzos and tramadol with weed I had one of the best times of my life and I didn't dose off. Is it the alcohol that caused me to fall asleep?

So far, the best experiences I had with benzos were when mixed with weed. On it's own benzos seem to knock me out and give me some slight body high which I shouldn't get to enjoy as I fall asleep.

Does anyone else keep falling asleep after consuming benzos and alcohol?

Benzodiazepines are excellent drugs for inducing amnesia and sleep. Especially if combined with alcohol and opioids. They are, in fact, used as sleeping medications for this reason.

Be very careful combining benzos and other sedatives. It increases the risk of side effects like nausea, respiratory depression, memory loss, and the like. On their own, benzos are very safe, but if mixed with alcohol, opioids, or other depressants they can be killers. Especially because they reduce your inhibitions; you may make decisions while on Xanax that you would regret if you were sober.
